when i drive my MM i notice my volts go back and forward and sometimes just sit on 10 and i know thats not good so im thinking its my altenator so what do you guys think if yall have had this problem before?

You voltmeter should always stay around 13V - 14.3V.

yea i know thats why i know its a problem cause it shouldnt be around 10 and 12

The factory voltmeter, while real (unlike the oil pressure gauge), is not terribly accurate. You should use a digital VOM and check the voltage at the battery while running. Should be between 13.6 and 14.1 or so.

Mine was my battery causing this, but yours may vary. My battery voltage read good, but I had light fluctuation at night, and my gauge dropping low. Then I had 1 or 2 nights where the car wouldn't start. The battery checked fine at 2 places, but then finally they checked the CCA numbers and it was only 300, hence the problems.

yea i went to autozone and got my battery checked and it said good battery cause i thought the exact same thing
