My mind is made up. Ordering cross drilled and slotted rotors from R1 but not sure which pads. I don't drive my car often, maybe on weekends. I need a pad that doesn't squeak and put off a lot of brake dust. I've put 11k miles on my car in the last 1 1/2 yrs. just a idea of my usage. Dont race of any kind. Just need and improvement from stock. Plus my rotors need turning. Thanks in advance

I just did the R1 slotted only. I am running Hawk pads on all four corners now.

I recommend Ceramic pads for your application. Napa Ceramix are supposed to be good to go. I personally have had less than desirable experiences with the Hawk HPS pads, I found them to squeal bad when cold or moist. My Ceramic pads dont squeal but every ones in a while when I first apply the brakes the very first time when humid and backing out of my garage, after that nothing. Its so nice.

Ceramic napa pads sound good. Brake dust a problem? Which part number?

I don't have the Napa pads, but will probably be getting them this summer, they are rated highly. The ceramic pads I have (came with the car used) produce very little dust...very little. Don't know the napa number...

I did the R1 quiet carbon metallic with my R1 slotted front rotors. So far I am very happy, but I have only put about 300 miles on since I did them.

I've got ~500 on mine and no dust. My complaint is that I start the car and back out of the garage, I need to PRESS on the pedal HARD to stop. This happens every morning and sometime after other start ups. Almost feels like air in the lines. I am going to run her by the shop again just to double check everything.
Once the first press is done though, she stops better.

Cool. Good info. Wondering if either of you bothered with installing SS Brake lines?

That was done a LONG time ago. First brake mod I did. Yes, it helps.

I have not noticed anything, but I back into the garage and pull out. It is slightly down hill and a side entry garage, so I ride the brakes on the way out.
BTW, I have Wagner quiet stop something-or-other on the rears and they squeak BAD.

I got hawk pads with no noise at all maybe it's just a hit or miss thing. At the same time I did eBay drilled and slot rotors and ss line. A world of difference. I got my hawk pads from ebey for some cheaper

That's a good deal. Any pics of them on the car?

Bendix makes a titanium front pad that works great with drilled rotors. Have them on 5 MM's now and CVPI's and even other cars. Good cold stopping feel and the hotter they get the more they grip. Out in the desert in the summer I can pull it down from triple diget speeds and absolutely no brake fade or rotor warpage. Pads are about $60.00 at any brake store and the rotors are whatever you want to run. US/Canada made are better (they are a little thicker). I have used these pads since the early 90's on cars and trucks with no complaints. There is a little dust, but no more than the stock pads. No squeal either on light stops. My .02 worth..

I found bleeding the entire system(not the ABS pump) helped with pedal feel.
Nite and day from how it acted prior to the long overdue brake flush.
