If you got a cobra lower intake and intercooler could you bolt up the stock upper instead of the eaton and use it for a centri?

I dont think so but I once saw a cobra with a "gutted" eaton housing where the guy welded up the openingings and used it as an upper intake for a twin turbo setup. It basically had two intercoolers. Was deffinately an original idea though Im not sure how it all went together with emissions and all.

No! But you could have someone make you an upper to bolt to the cobra lower. Interesting idea.

this

the eaton has a much smaller footprint than the stock upper

ProCharger made a cog drive F1A kit for the 03-04 Cobra that had a sheet metal intake. There was no air to air IC but the blower pushes it through the factory Eaton lower and intercooler.

So if it's smaller it could be easy to get an intermediate plate made up of aluminum that would bolt first to the lower and then the upper could bolt the the plate and still look somewhat stock

I think it would create a lot of turbulence as portions of the upper intake would be blocked off by a flat adapter plate.

Would be an expensive piece to make if you wanted it to taper up to the size and shape of the upper intake.

I think it would work good with a boat load of boost. I just see a lot of space in a big box.

I agree but it couldn't be flat plate adapter. It would have to be a box type that the upper could bolt on to if you really wanted you use it. That way the flange could be cut to the shape of the upper intake and you wouldn't be blocking any of the incoming air flow.

I think you would see better gains with just a box type on the eaton lower and not use the stock upper at all.

Not sure about with a air to air IC in tandem with the stock Eaton IC . It should work; the IAT sensor would just have to installed in the eaton lower like on a eaton swap. Then you could throw ice in the reservoir at the track to further drop the temps.
