I'm an Idiot!...Because I don't know where to post this!
Yes, gents, I DID do a search looking for a / the "I'm home safely from Looseville" thread, and my search returned a LOT of hits, mostly confusing. So, I decided to just post this here at large and let the mods move this post to where it fits in best. Hell, they can even delete it if my comments cause too much unrest...Okay with me.
The end to aother great MM meet came Sunday morning at the Hampton Inns and Suites in Louisville, KY, but this was (IMHO) mared by threatening weather. However, it seems we all got through all that.
I made it home to Chicago (SW side, near Oak Lawn) in record time and with record MPG for "Lucy". 24.3 MPG on 87 octane as well. Remarkable.
I wish to thank all of you for allowing me Lucy to participate in this weekend. My heart has always allowed (with BIG favor) room for the Marauder, so, thank you all for allowing room in your hearts for my Shelby GT (aka..."that "Mustang over there").
There was something missing though, and that was "hugs".
Seems to me that a car club that continues to meet up 10 years after the car was introduced, and 9 years after it was discontinued, and from a car company that was washed away from the parent 5 years ago, it is likewise remarkable that we need not just shake hands, wave, yell across the car at each other, whatever...when we greet, or, well-wish each other when saying good-bye. We need more hugs.
Hugs when saying hello, and hugs when saying "safe journey, see you again". Hug each other more, eh?
Its been said countless times..."Its not about the car, but about the people" and I find this to be very true. Only the hugs glue us together.
Folks...We are making history here. WE are writing new "collector car" history with our continued/extended community. Think about this? The longer we continue to meet...even when we do not have our Marauder, but are buying/building another Marauder, or have taken a step to the left or right, it all builds our communty and this is what will go down in history.
That said...Lucy made it home, and Lucy (or LuLu) will be here next year, maybe both the girls will attend, eh?
Great meet Mike, thank you for all you have done.
BTW y'all..It's the "Looseville" meet. I coined the name years ago, I think (hope) it should/can stick. Show up...Loosen up (we seem to have no problem with this), and enjoy. Clean up after ourselves and "Looseville"...Can't get any better, eh?
