I wanted to get a legit MPG recording for anyone interested in 4:30's. Of course every car, mods done, and driver is different.. This was 100% Highway driving, some, but little construction and traffic. Speeds ranging from 72 to 78 with cruise set.
The best my car ever got before was 23 1/2 on 3:55 gear, but "normal" driving (not chasing down every last mile) would put her right in at 22.
335 miles to Louisville and I still had between 1/8 and 1/4 tank! End result = 19.8. Contributing factors that could also be noted were the use of brand new 255/55 18's that turned 5.23 miles less than the OEM size and a speedo that has read about 2 MPH high since the day I picked her up in '04. So that's as precise as I can make it.
I KNOW I can squeeze a 21 out of her, but what fun is that? :D Not bad at all for a 466 H.P. 78,000 mile four door brick.
P.S. For those concerned about RPM's I was a dead flat 2750 for 3/4 of the trip down at around 76 MPH (GPS speed)
