What's up MM family ??
Can anyone in the Philly Del or Nj area repair LCMs? I didn't wanna send one out because I need my car for work everyday.

I repair them.
I offer 2 options:
You send my yours and I repair and send it back.
I send you a repaired LCM and you send yours to me.
PM me for the details.

Phil - do one of the two offers that Jim has offered you. Take if from an EE who otherwise knows what he's doing. I'm in Cherry Hill and commute to K of P everyday. Have had the light problem, which I fixed by changing out the internal relay on the LCM - 3 times now. I have one spare relay, which, when the unit goes down again, will have Jim repair the right way with an external heavy duty relay.

I am doing a double fix
Getting a LCM fixed by Jim PLUS
adding a external headlight relay like this but with actually good components
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOKYA-RELAY-HARNESS-9007-HB5-X-1-WIRE-NOK9204-OE-FIT-HEAD-LIGHT-LAMP-UPGRADE-12V-/130580104589?pt=Motors_Car_Tru ck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ACrown+Victoria&vxp=mtr&hash=item1e672e458d#ht_4144wt_ 948
So one of these takes all the current load out of the LCM

I use a heavy duty external relay when I repair the LCM so there is no need for that kit.

That relay is pretty beefy looks like one from a Marine supply store

Fat wires

The front mount relay bypasses all the puny wires in the stock harness that lead up to the LCM harness. Overkill yes but I want to solve the problem with excessive force.
The only thing the front mount kit will do in my car is reduce the voltage drop to the headlight bulbs. I will measure a before/after voltage, I do expect to pick up a measurable difference due to bypassing all those skinny wires leading to and from the LCM
Some on CV.net have tried to fix the problem with JUST the front mount relay kit, but the LCM sorely needs upgrading either way as those solder joints and the relays themselves are pretty poor quality.
I will be sourcing a similar external relay and rebuilding my spare LCM.

You should have said something.... I would have sent you another relay and harness......
If you go with HIDs you won't have to worry about the voltage drop.

Yeah that would have been smart :)
No HID for me, still gonna fire the 9007's but maybe will get more wattage.
