So for the past several months my gas mileage has been really weird. I say weird like because regardless if I drive easy and speed limit I get 18 mpg, if I drive aggressively and above the speed limit often I get 18 mpg. This has been with my summer tires on since February. When I had my winter tires on for four months before that I was averaging 17.4-17.7 mpg.

I don't know if my speedo is still way off or not which controls the odo function as well. I do know I have it set to read 1-1.5 mph faster than I am actually going via several gps devices used to check. I filled up yesterday and pumped 15.4 gallons while at 278 miles on the trip odo. I gave up on using my scangauge a while back ago because it has never been right. This time it said I used 13.6 gallons.... how is that when I pumped 15.4 back in? I have two things telling me two different things.

I know no one bought the car for gas mileage but I do like to track it and make sure I'm not throwing away money in gas. I know my plugs are good, changed my front O2 sensors several months ago (4-5k miles ago), new air filter, cleaned the MAF/IAC and tires are inflated to 37 psi hot.

How do you know the station isn't ripping you off? Maybe you only got 13.6 gallons but paid for 15.4?!

There have been emails going around about people getting ripped off on gas at gas stations. Print out your gas receipt and check out how much gas you got compared to the total cost and see if it adds up.

In this area, I think this ^^^^^ may be a definite possibility. Recent news broadcasts have mentioned the same thing about pumps being tampered with to short you just a bit on every gallon. Have you been filling up at the same place every time .... if so, check 'em out when you have used a known quantity .... or run it to near empty and see if you can fit 20 gallons in a 19 gallon tank. :D
