Not sure if it is a mud buggy based on the cracking but a very cool car for sure!

My older brothers first car. I remember it broke down (overheated) and stranded us for a short time. Turned out to be quite rare as I don't remember seeing too many on the road.

It's a mean machine,a real force to be reckoned with between the 2 speed Fordamatic trans and the massive 260 V8.That snarling 260 put out a whopping 164 horsepower at the flex plate,without the alternator other "accessories" and sans mufflers. :lol:

Nope,the Comet was the Merc equivalent of the Falcon,it was classified as a compact car and came out in 1960 as I recall.The Meteor was a mid size car and larger than the Comet.

Yup, IIRC, it would have been the Merc counterpart to the Fairlane from '63 through maybe '65(?).

I have a friend with a two door in his collection of Fords.
