Hi there,
What's the correct part number for our ignition coils? Is it the same as for a 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII?
I picked up some used Mark VIII COPs for little $ only to find that the primary connector (the low-voltage side) is slightly different than my stock unit. Otherwise, they look identical. The connector shell is the right shape for the older COP, but the pins on the older COP are much wider, more like mini spades, whereas on the stock COP the pins are more or less square.
The stock connector slides onto the older COP alright, until it hits the pins, which are too wide to engage the stock connector.
All of the parts interchanges I can find list the same part for both 2003 Marauder and 1997 Mark VIII. Ebay, car-part.com, AM autosports all list the DG543 for both cars. Where'd I go wrong?
