Hi everyone,

I know that i have posted up a few threads about some issues that i have been having with my 2004 MM. I have recently tried to pay the utmost attention to every little noise or issue to ask advice or just to confirm my susipicions. I have a cylinder that is miss firing at low rpms under low load, but when i accelerate it sputters and clears up, no CEL has showed up yet though so i was curious if anyone else had this issue before.

Also i can hear a drastic change in the sound of my fuel pump now at low rpms. It sounds like it is running balls to the wall and whining, i am thinking that these issues could be what is effecting my boost and overall performance of my car. Since the car only has 30k on it i kind of figured it was going to be this way. I think that this is about when a car shows its little issues that take some money to fix and then it runs like a dream.

Anyone have any suggestions on what kind of COPs to run? i am changing them all out and would like to go with a performance set that will come in handy for future upgrades.

Also anyone have any suggestions on the fuel pump? My Full Sweep AutoMeter Fuel Pressure Gage took a crap on me and i have sent it back to be check out. I have yet to use a regular gage to check my fuel pressure but i am going to be picking one up tomorrow. Thanks

Your miss is prolly a bad cop and/or spark plugs, as for what brand oem, or MSD, a set of granetelli cop connectors (ropes) would be a good choice as well, stay away from there cops (too many failures)

As for your fuel pump try changing your fuel filter, also clean your mass air flow, and your idle air valve, also check to make sure your EGR isnt sticking open at idle.

If the fuel pump is working and starting the car i wouldnt worry about it at this point.

thanks MoTown for the advice. I will make sure to check all of those out. I have the new fuel filter ready to install and plan to do the MOD that i seen in a thread on here. I also purchased a larger fuel filter that is about 4in in diameter.
