So last week I did a full brake job on my car with EBC rotors (dimpled and slotted) and EBC red brake pads. The only problem I ran into during the job was the front slide plate for the pads did not allow enough room to get the pads in, even after sanding down the pads where they make contact with the slide plate. After inquiring with a mechanic friend of mine he said that since the pads were a tight fit without the slide plates that I would not need them. At first I had no problems and loved the set-up and I still do however the pads have now worn in enough to the point were every time I go over a bump in the road it sounds like plates dropping. Any suggestions?

Can you put the slide plates in now that the pads are "broken in"?

As much as I like showing people the car, I don't put pictures online anymore because the last guy that asked to see pictures took a picture of the front on the car and photo shopped on a license plate, that actually matched to the real plates of the car and put it on CL as a scam.
