View Full Version : Help...electrical? Fuel?
My O3 has the weirdest issue. It's unpredictable. Started a couple of weeks when I hit a hard bump it died but started back up. Then it started doing whenever I hit a hard bump. Now though it's dying on the highway I pull over and it will sounds like its not getting fuel then it will go quiet like the ignition is not working at all then let it sit and it fires up. It's not running bad when not dying no studdering or anything. Any idea guys?

Could it be a bad fuel inertia switch? Usually it has to be manually reset after tripping though. It's located in the trunk to the left.

Did you hit the switch and then start it? Or did it start without resetting the switch?
Both the first few times it would start directly back up so no need to try it. Then these last times it's taken longer to bounce back so I have flipped it and tried it but it is not an immediate start after flipping it either.

Sounds like some shake down testing is needed. Without being able to replicate the issue and make it not start, it's going to be difficult to diagnose. Carefully with vehicle running, start moving wiring to eliminate any loose connections.

That was my fear. Well here we go.
Mybcr was dying off and on. Took it to shop. They found a diablo that was half un plugged.
Questions?
1 do these normally stay on board?
2 would it of caused my car to die and not re start? Then wait and it would start?
3 a guy wanted me to buy his super hips I tried it did not like it unprogrammmed it. Now I know that diablo was on there could I if screwed something up?
Talk to me guys a little stressed?

I assume you're talking about a Diablo chip installed in the PCM? If so, then yes having it partially unplugged will cause all sorts of problems. Most people duct tape them in to prevent this.
As for question 3, are you saying you tried a SuperChips flash tuner? Did you remove the Diablo chip first?

Not likely you hurt anything, but with the chip in place, it overrides any programming you installed via the flash tuner. You have to remove the chip first, then use the tuner. That's probably why you didn't notice anything different.

Thanks guys. Going to go pick her up. I had no idea I could love a car.

Check the harness in the engine compartment behind the left side head. It may be rubbing on the bolt that supports the bracket for the cowl.
