JDM installed my Trilogy and tuned my car. Did a great job IMO. Happy.
Showed me their 1000hp gt500 with a stock block when I was there. Top of it's class.
If they say it'll do 600hp, it will.
I think they wrote that ad to get me back there!

I'd like to get a long block from them, with the cams already degreed etc. A lot more coin, but you really want new heads too right?

I've been looking at SHM and MMR. I can't see the pic you posted because of network restrictions at work.

Is that 600 crank HP or wheel horsepower? Sweet deal though for a stroker. JDM knows these mod motors and have very good customer service from my experience (bought a 2.3 whipple for an 03 s/c harley truck from them 6 years ago and they were phenomenal to deal with much after the original sale).
MMR has pretty good built short block prices with many options depending on budget.

I've been giving a lot of thought to sending my short block to MMR for a rebuild. You save a lot of money using your block. I'm on the fence about the crank. A lot of people say our factory crank is good for about 700hp. The weak link is the pistons and rods. Using your crank and block they can rebuild it with forged rods and pistons for around $2000.

600RWHP They all list RWHP. MMR is good too. I beat the snot outa my MMR built block (150 shot) with low oil pressure for 3k+ miles (My fault) and only had to replace the bearings. She's purring again.

JDM and MMR seem to be both top of the line. The JDM gives you a aluminum block which is cool.
I went with a new aluminum block on my MMR build since my original block had a big hole in it.

MMR is the way to go, IMO. I've had 2 from them, 1 long block and 1 short block. The quality is well worth the price.

The engine components on the JDM motor will withstand more than 600rwhp. The block is the one I would go different with. For all of us that think 600whp ain't enough.

The only thing that takes "full advantage of a cowl hood" is a whipple 3.4/4.0;)

At the risk of sounding rude, what was the total cost to make 321 RWHP?

Oh I know, trust me I would love an Eaton or Trilogy kit but if I get a S/C kit for the MM it will take away from my 331ci foxbody build that I am going to try and complete this year.

I think it's a good starting point.
Also found a complete zero mile Mach 1 motor minus the intake for sale for $2800 and it's just in the state next door.... tough call now.

He lives in Cali, they can only use one type of S/C and it probably doesn't fit his motor.

Highest achieved on the dyno was 330rwhp/370rwtq dialed back for a final safe daily tune of 321/360. My tuner wants me to connect my knock sensors before I advance the timing anymore or run the 330/370 tune. As far as Big Bore Stroker 324ci motor with H/C/I IIRC it was $10-11k ported my OE heads not including exhaust and labor and all the misc parts. It's eventually gonna get a (CARB EO#) Vortech SC 9-12lb 550-600+rwhp. Budget $13-15k for a fully built BBS 5.3L longblock.
Cali= no longtubes no 93. I believe Fordnut's BBS 5.3 made 365/368 with alot more work done.

Go for the JDM short block! Yeah you still need heads but you're gonna want better cams than the oem Mach 1 cams anyway. Get your heads worked over w/bigger valves and cams and bolt them up to the JDM short block then have them tune it!

With stage 3 heads, would you want to go with a bit more aggressive cam to make the most of them?

I've ran those numbers many times... and always end up back at the coyote swap... you can pick up a 400 hp forged coyote crate motor for 6500, another 2k for the computer and wiring stuff, and end up in the same place strength wise, but with a much better breathing motor to start...
And then I look at my bank account.... after that I usually wake up.

That's what I'm talking about. With the increased displacement on the JDM short block you might even be able to see a benefit to using the stage 4 heads!
