All,
I have searched through previous posts for quite some time now and I am unable to find any traces of information on silicone upper and lower radiator hoses for our cars. I have not posted here in a couple of years, but I could have sworn that such hoses were available. If my mind isn’t playing tricks on me, and these hoses were in fact produced, does anyone have info on them?
My car currently has about eighty-five thousand on it and I want the most durable hoses money can buy; I want to keep the car around awhile as I can neither afford nor want anything else. If there is no such thing available, can somebody point me in the best direction given my stated priorities?
Thanks much,
Matt

I have never seen the blue silicone hoses for the Marauder, only CVPI's have them as they are sitting idling for hours at a time.
I just checked mine for cracks, buldging or hardening, all is good! :coolman:

The blue silicone hoses were never offered for the MM. You would need to adapt them to the MM's cooling system.

The blue silicone hoses were never offered for the MM. ^^^What Jim said^^^
And to add insult to injury, even the regular MM hoses are discontinued now... :shake:

Okay, I guess I know where I am going with this now. I looked on NAPA’s website and they seem to at least have the lower hose—with a connection for the reservoir—in stock. I guess I will buy that along with a generic upper hose, the small hose that runs from the motor to the stat junction, and a new stat. I am just somewhat weary of ordering products that may be inferior as I am unfamiliar with the brands (i.e. Dorman et al.) offered.
By the way, has anyone used the Reische thermostat? If so, is it worth the money? My car runs well with the 180 degree stat and I am afraid that the 170 degree rating of these stats may adversely affect my engine insofar as premature, unnecessary wear is concerned. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Respectfully,
Matt

I don't see the need for the Reische thermostat. I have a 180° Motorcraft in The Blackbird that I got from Dennis Reinhart back in '04 and it's still fine. Phoebe has whatever thermostat she came with when we bought her from Mac in '07 and almost 70,000 miles ago.
As to the hoses, I bought mine through AutoZone as they carry Dayco. Yes, they're still not exact fit, but Dayco is good stuff.
