Hey guys, I am pretty sure I want to run a 4.30 gear. I would like to buy a genuine ford racing gear set but it appears they are actually made by motive for a 4.30. I have found 4.30s from the following companies:
Motive Gear
Strange Engineering
Superior Axle and Gear
Richmond - 4.33s
Ford Racing = Motives???

Does anyone have any experience with either of these companies? I know this is 95% setup but I would love for these to be dead quiet and I am just trying to do my part and get the best available gears.

Thanks

Are these going into a Vic or a MM? What size rims/tires are you running?

If a Vic with 17", 4.30's are gonna be pretty tall.

I would choose motive over all of those. Thats the only aftermarket gear we would run on our cars. Install it right and you won't have problems.

The tire height is 2" bigger than stock so that should almost equal a 4.10 according to the calculator. I was leaning toward the motives anyway and they are on sale too so that helps.

Appreciate the quick responses.

Gotcha.

Agreed on the Motives as well.

I have the FRPP ones in the mach1, whoever made them at the time in 04... Lasted about 3 sets of slicks and 2 31 spline frpp diffs, but there's now a slight howl on deceleration. I'll be swapping them for something new soon; when I put the spool back in.

Ive used Richmonds on several builds if setup properly they are quiet and reliable, a bit pricey but good gears.

Richmonds are also good, what we have encounter on f-bodys, the Richmonds are good on autos but will howl quick on M6.

I have Motive 4.30's and they are as quiet as can be. Ford never made a 4.30. Check the first or last (can't remember right now) letter on the part number for Ford gears. Either its a F for Ford or a M for Motive.

Good to know. I ordered the motive 4.30s and FMS-M-4210-C Ring and Pinion Install Kit. Trying to find out when the installer is available so I can get these bad boys in.

Thanks again guys!!!
