I have performed the relay mod on the LCM on my 03. This appears to fix the issue for about 12 hours, then the flicker returned. I then purchased a brand new LCM from the dealership, (I wasn't convinced that my soldering was up to snuff) and installed it. Same story, the flicker returned after about 12 hours. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to prevent the lights from flickering?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you've got a loose wire or bad connection somewhere.

Too bad you didn't check long here on the board or just plain ask the question---to read about ---contact-- "fastblackmerc" --he fixes them --never a return problem----PM Him

are you dealing with HIDs or factory style bulbs?

Good point. If he's running HID's could be a ballast issue.

These are the standard bulbs. The brand new LCM from the dealership would've fixed it if it was the LCM I think. I saw some odds and ends about the wacky wipers, any chance that could be playing into the issue? Then of course, wacky wiring is always something to consider.

No, the wipers won't cause a problem with the headlights.

Sounds like a wiring problem. The LCM won't go bad in 12 hours.

Try reseating the LCM connectors. When you have them out check for bent pins, frayed wires, etc.

When you say flickering you might have to clarify (I'm a slow comprehender - yeah, I made that word up too)...the LCM flicker is the headlights cycle off (dark) and on (light) in intervals. The relay heats up, shuts off the lights..you can kick the LCM and they come back on, but that just buys time (or not).

The other flicker is the dash lights seem to be getting dimmer/brighter at a fast interval, never going completely out. This was the subject of a TSB in the past. It had to do with an inadequate/dirty ground for the dash light circuit. The circuit grounds at three screws in the right side footwell behind the kick panel. Sometimes after changing a blend door acuator the flickering stops, but this is because you have to remove and reinstall those grounds to get the dash back far enough to do the blend door actuator. But it seems to come back again. I thought the TSB said something abut running another thicker guage ground wire, but I can't recall for sure. You just sorta get used to it. Not all MM's seem to do it. Usually more pronounced with load on the alternator, like at night with AC on.

Not sure if this is the flickering you mean or not..

Do you or anyone else have a copy of such TSB vegasmarauder?

Very easy to check.....

Pull off the passenger side door sill cover

Remove the passenger side kick panel to expose the grounds

Check the grounds, making sure the connections are clean and tight.

I looked through all my misc paperwork on the MM over the years and can"t find it. I definately remeber it was related to a ground issue and it was also for Gran Marquis too.

I've been noticing on and off dim dash lights for a long time now. I assume if it happens on a GMQ, my CV is fair game also...I Guess the passenger kick panel is coming apart later today.

Hello I am having a similar problem, I have HIDs I have replaced the Turn Signal Stalk, checked all fuses. I have Wipers, Flashers, Bright Lights, Flash to Pass, but no left or right turn signal. Someone point me in the right direction, a deal is in jeopardy. Thank you for everything.

As someone mentioned with HID, could be a ballast issue/wiring/ground

What problem are you having? Is it with the HIDs, turn signals or what??

but no left or right turn signal. Do the lights come on but don't flash, or do the lights just do nothing? All 4 corners do the same thing?
