I recently bought a set of the MOSER 31spline axles for the rear end build
They are going in today! Ive used there axles in the past with over 1,000rwhp put thru them so we shall see what the MM mosers are about:coolman:
By the way i had to order my own abs rings and press them on even though MOSER stated they came with them, which they dont!:mad2:

That's one of the reasons I went with the FORD axles.
Good luck bro.

When I got mine they clearly stated that the ABS ring did not come with them .
My mechanic buddy seemed a little concerned that they would R&R without issue, but all went well!!!:banana2:
Best of luck on your build

that sucks! Have you thought about sending them back because of that? I would be fuming at Moser.
not sure of how the integrity of the axle is affected, if any. There was a thread by Zack on why his Moser axles failed but he also states in the thread the issue has been corrected.

No i just bought the rings and pressed them on, too much time and hassle to return them, im dropping the car off this afternoon so they can get started first thing tomorrow morning on the install.
Yeah early on they had a heat treating blunder machining the axles after heat treat which was a sure way to fail as it effects the integrity of the metal to machine it after heat treat, kinda like ford and the 03s that didnt get heat treated at all! hence the "soft axle issue" stuff happens

ok. good luck with it and hope all goes well. i admittedly don't fully understand the intricacies but wanted to make sure were aware. From the various threads, you are aiming for some high horse power.

It is hit or miss with Moser's, the first set I purchased didnt come with ABS rights. I had one of those axles fail on me and when I purchase an additional axle from Moser they asked if I wanted an ABS ring installed before they shipped it out. So you never know with them.:shake:

The last time I called Moser and Strange they both told me they would not make axles for the MM/Crown Vic/Town Car. This was after a member on here had a catastrophic failure (where they machined for the ABS ring). As I recall, they failed to leave a radius, and created a stress riser, leading to a broken shaft.

This actually happened to 2 members here in the same month!

I've had them for some time now. Bot them on the group buy. The cone style Auburn failed but Mosers remain fine. Eaton LSD now.

I certaily hope my auburn pro holds up, or it will be eaton next time, but i do think the auburn, and the eaton are much stronger than the ford trac loc.

Just don't get the tru trac if you plan on beating on it at the drag strip. It never completely failed but it wasn't gonna hold up to much longer. I'll see if I can dig up some pics.
