IMO no one cam is better then another. It all depends on what youre trying to achieve/get out of cam change. This is a subject I have educated myself on fairly well over past few weeks. Iam gonna do a cam\cams swap in very near future & ive pretty much decided on Crower stage2 or 3 blower cams. Yes it is a of the shelf cam set not custom grind but it is basically designed around a Cobra motor with a stronger blower like a TS.

I may get my car dynoed this Sat with my now degreed 98 Cobra cams. My even newer motor will have the Crower stage 2 sc cams in the other set of heads I have.

Keep valve lift under .45 and look for longer duration. 98 cobra cams serve well in this area because they're cheap, have the same lift as stockers and are only about 18 deg longer duration. There are a LOT of cam options out there.

Good choice in Cams there Racer. Them Stage2 Crower Blower cams are pretty nice and perform well.

Crower stg 2s are great but they require valve springs and that means more money and a lotta work. Comp 106060s or custom grinds are what I recommend for Marauders...or the cobra intake cams installed at a low lobe center.
I'm spec'ing two sets of custom grinds for auto Mach's right now and you could say the resemble the crower stg 2s but have lift that can use stock springs.

Wish I knew if the setup with extra work and springs where worth it

It's not worth it. Cams that use stock springs will make just as much power. I recently did a set of cams for stock springs in a Mach, it made 366/348 with only a CAI and long tubes. Combos using higher lift cams are making the same or less power.

That will be with a 5 speed or auto?

5 speed, it's about 20rw less for an auto Mach. Not sure for a marauder.

I got the Crowers for $200 (seriously) and since I paid $700 for the brandy new FR500 SS valves, springs, valve seals, rockers... I just couldn't pass it up. Those custom grinds Todd is speaking of sound like the perfect solution for most that want more than the 96/98's give, but, not spending an armload of cash to do it.

I want some cams so bad. It seems like the only way to break into the 300s n/a.

Crank or wheels?

Wheel horse power. Lots of mod motor forums out there. Todd's well known on all of them.

Crower S/C stage 2 cams, P/N 62822-4. Dynoed at 487 HP & 494 torque on a Lidio stroker. seat of the pants meter shows strong pull in the 2nd half of the quarter mile. Worth it? yes, since I was getting the heads redone anyway.
