Hello everyone,
Since I bought my car three weeks ago, I've noticed that the driver's window is slow to roll up the last inch or two. It starts off fine, but the last two inches or so are slow and the window squeaks as it closes. It rolls down perfectly fine.
Am I looking forward to a motor/regulator replacement? Or is the track just in need of cleaning?

Clean and lube the regulator and track.

Ah, thank you. So I don't need to worry about replacing the regulator?

Damn it. Are those fairly common on Panthers & Fords in general?

Yes because they are cheaply made.
If the windows is going up and down the regulator is probably OK. Look at it when you take the door panel off to clean and lube everything.

What Jim said! I had the exact same problem, and after wiping down the rubber track with some marine grade silicone, no problems at all!
Clean and lube the regulator and track.

Mine has always started leaning a little forward that starts about a inch from the top as its closing. A down tap and it straightens out. Some marine grade silicone in order?

I use JIG-A-LOO and Lubriplate (white lithium grease) in a can.

Do you need to take the door panel off to properly lubricate the tracks? (Dumb question...)

Of course.... how else can you get to the regulator INSIDE the door?

Well right, but simply rolling the window down and lubricating the tracks isn't enough?

You could try it..... But I doubt it will fix the problem.

and if you roll the windows down and lube tracks your gonna have windows covered in lube, you need to roll them up, take the panel off, lube the track and then put it back together. don't expect miracles with lubing IMO.
