Happened to mine, ended up being overhauled by dealer. Warranty covered it so I walked happy.

Overdrive light was flashing on me once a few years ago after an epic first gear burnout, but never happened again, needless to say though, that was my last epic first gear burnout!

Could be anything. The light is flashing because a code is present. Take it to a reputable transmission shop to have it diagnosed.

There was a problem in the past where the direct clutch snap ring would pop off and then no drive after an upshift to 3rd. It supposedely happened after a hard forced downshift from overdrive to second gear (like when cruising along with almost no throttle and them mashing to to pass someone).
Either way, I am afraid it's going to be toast.

P0705 Transmission Range Sensor Circuit malfunction (PRNDL Input)
Possibly a bad/misadjusted DTR (Digital Transmission Range) sensor...that's fairly common.
Also check the connector...hit it with some WD40 or CRC and make sure it's seated properly.
