I hope I can get some help from fellow, Marauder owners.

A few week ago I fired up my AC. All went well. Then a few days later I started the car. From the area where the center console is and under the glove box I herd a clunking, clicking sound . Like a door in the CC system was opening and closing. It would stop after about 3 minutes. It would sometimes start up again.

I was able to use the AC again for a few days after that.. Then a week after I first herd the sound the AC would only blow HOT air and the clunking sound stopped completely.

So Did the AC compressor die? Does it just need a re-charge? Or is it something more serious and costly?

Please let me know

Peter

From your description, it sounds like the blend-door actuator. Fairly common problem, but a real bear to fix...

Oh boy, that is what I was afraid of . I am not so good at doing that kind of work myself. So the place where I bring it to, will prob charge a LOT in labor, to get at the door. I assume the AC needs recharging as well, but maybe not.

One has nothing to do with the other...the blend door only directs air from the heater core or the evaporator. Unless you have a compressor failure or a leak in the system, you shouldn't need to be recharged.

Thank you for the links! I will try the self-test So I will see if it is a EATC or blend door
