Fishing line and heat will get the teunk one off.

The front one has a retaining nut if I remember.

Fishing line and heat will get the trunk one off.

I think you need to clarify--Jim ^^^^above is referring to something different I think---what do mean?--The front or the rear emblems--?? It's best to be specific to get the exact answer

The front one has a retaining nut if I remember. Jim's correct. You can use a plastic putty knife too. Tape off the area to avoid scrapes and take your time on the trunk. The fronts are bolts. Not too difficult. Did you get one like this?

Yo be exact im talking about all 3 Steering wheel, Grille, and Trunk For the steering wheel, do it on a warm day, disconnect the battery and use a thin screwdriver to slowly and carefully pry it up. It's held on with 6 tabs. This is my new one.

I ordered my God Head Emblems from CarMotorSports with the tape on the back i know the grill is a screw on so I was wondering how do I put the grill emblem on because it has the screw in part sticking out and i think my trunk emblem is slanted i was wondering was that normal and is the steering wheel emblem goin to be able to stick on the steering wheel?

After you remove the grill emblem you'll have to shave the mounting pad down for the new emblem to fit.

The trunk emblem is bigger than the grill emblem and has a slight curve to it to match the contour of the deck lid.

The steering new wheel emblem sicks on over the OEM one.

So just stick the new one on top of the factory mercury emblem?
And how did you get the trunk off?

Just checked these out. Wow they're nice. Expensive though. (for me anyway).

There must be other places to get them? (Besides EBay - cause you don't know what you're gonna get).

(The one Ms.Denmark has with the number is awesome.)

My trunk/grille and steering wheel emblems are all from Colex, a vendor here. They are beautifully made, so well worth the price IMHO. Just save your pennies...:D

^^^ just went to their link. Useless!

Would be interested to look, but can't. I really like the number idea. Very unique.

Jim,
the one thing that I'm overly interested in, is having "my" number on an interior emblem. Are you heading in that direction? Metal or plastice?

Please keep us updated fastblackmerc!
Edit: I forgot to add, please try to have the front grill emblem a direct bolt-in replacement that does not require any "additional" work, I'd hate to purchase one and mess up while shaving a piece of it for a factory fit! :o
