left rear lower than right, air ride?

Sounds like a leaking bag, and/or soleniod , check to make sure the pump is working

Is this with the car off and parked, or running with the air bags pumped up?

If the former, that's a fairly normal condition.

Been meaning to ask the same question as I notice that mine too looks a little bit lower on the driver side with the engine off, parked, and sitting for several hours.

May have a slight leak, but if your car's like mine, it comes back up to height in short order after start-up, so I figure NBD.

But will monitor it. It's the original air suspension components with pump with 62k miles.

I think it will be time soon to get a new pump from Arnott as she's really loud when pumping up and at the same time will get the entire kit.

It seems my rear end is sitting really close to the tires (both running and parked), but I'm not sure if it's just and optical illusion because the Coopers are a wee bit bigger than BFGs or if my air suspension is toast. Since I've had the car, I can tell when the air suspension kicks on, but am not sure if it's 'loud' like others have talked about...it's always made the same amount/volume of noise (to me) and haven't had anyone say it sounds loud at the gatherings I've been to. However, I've recently realized that I can't remember the last time I heard it kick on and it seems the front of my car is a bit 'bouncy/spongy' going over bumps, etc....but I don't know if this means I need to replace my shocks or my air susp has crapped out. I'm sooo confused right now... :confused: :confused: :confused:

If your RAS is collapsed, it should be very obvious. The car will have that Mafia look...(dead body in the trunk). You would also feel it...there will be no "give" over bumps...like someone replaced the springs with solid bars.

If the front end suspension seems soft, it's prolly time to change the front coil over/shocks. May as well do the rears as well.

Russ and I are both running Monroe Severe Service on both ends and have been pleased with the performance (good price and warranty as well).

Im having the same problem its been 2days marauder has been sitting 1/2 inch lower on driver side vs passanger side. I had three people look at it and couldnt find out I need to have it fixed before it goes bad, car has 32k miles I dont know what to do.

If it's only ½ inch, there's prolly nothing you CAN do. It's fairly common for these cars to lean a little.

Thats what the tech said to also asked me if I floor my car often and I said most of the time :D he said maybe thats why because the car leans. I was just worried didnt wanted to get worst thanks for your comment highly appreciated :)

I posted this in March 2006 about 6 years ago ... seems the lean to the left is fairly normal and probably aggravated by B.O.S. (Big Owner's Syndrome). The difference at the wheel wells is typically about 7/8 inch lower on the driver's side after it sits for awhile. Your exhaust tips may also not be hung properly and serve to exagerate the lean. I took measurments back in 2006 and was surprised \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/.


An 18-wheeler was sitting across from my routine parking spot today, so I just parked right out front of the building. :D I was just looking at the car (as I am prone to do alot :) ) and noticed that the driver's side exhaust tip seemed to be lower than the passenger side. :dunno:

I went in and got the measuring tape and sure enough, when measured from the ground the left tip is at 14" and the right is at 15.25" (1.25" difference). Then I measured the rear fender wells. The driver's well is 28.5" and the passenger side is 29.375" (0.875").

It seems that my driver's side exhaust tip is 3/8" lower and the entire car is 7/8" lower on the driver's side. :eek: The ground is pretty level. Could be the air suspension is bleeding off more on the left side. That still doesn't account for the alignment of the pipes. I feel ........ lopsided. :rolleyes:

It is fairly easy to check to see if your air compressor/suspension is working properly. When you start the car you should hear the air compressor "kick" on for about 20-30 seconds. During this time, you can use the rear view mirror to focus on a fixed point behind you just above the 3rd stoplight bump. As the air bags/suspension fills, you can watch the rear end of the car lift up about 2 inches or so.

My bags will lose some air overnight or when sitting for several hours.

If your rear sags ALOT or if the ride feels different/hard in the rear, you may have a bad bag or a bad compressor.

If the front end bounces or is spongy, I'd have the front shocks checked.

You also might want to try driving the car around for a while with the air ride forced off. I did, until it lost so much air the ride was unbearable and then popped it back on, car seems to be more level now.
