Hello everyone, I need some help. is there a cabin filter on my marauder? If so is it in the Cabin or the engine compartment?
Also my car has 71k now ant the air is still cold. However the fan blows regular air for about 30 seconds whe it has sat for a time. maybe 4 hours. After the 30 seconds it works normally fro the rest of the day. Even f I turn it of when I am not driving. I thought it could be a cabin filter. However in my records I can't see it was ever replaced?
Help please
Steve

You have a problem with it not blowing cold air for the first 30 seconds, correct? That doesn't sound like a problem to me.

FWIW...it usually takes a little time for my A/C to get 'cold'...about the same amount of time as you stated...upon first use of the day and/or when car has been sitting for an hour or so. Since the air does eventually get cold, I would assume a 20-30 second 'lag' is normal? :dunno:
More importantly, is the air coming out of your dash vents, or just the floor and/or defrost vents?

As stated in posts above.... "slow starting" A/C is not a problem. It takes time to get the air cold and flush the warm air out of the system.

It helps to open some windows when you first start the car up and turn on the A/C.
Say 5-10 minutes of driving.

Next question could be; since the MM has no cabin filter could it? Did any of the Marquis' or CV's come with them perhaps in later years. Be nice not to have to dust the dash everytime I turn on the HVAC.

No none of the panthers ever had a filter(as far as I know) Ford never bother to add them to the cars when they got popular, like cup holders:lol:

If you mean that the blower does not come on at all for several seconds, that could be the beginning of the famous blower control module problem.

Not exactly....
The BCM problem is the blower doesn't come on at all until you tap it or replace it!

Mine just went completely out...again yesterday. I had noticed a few days before that when I turned on the blower nothing would happen for a few seconds. I think it was on it's way out but making enough intermittent contact that it worked most of the time.
The first time I fixed it (about a year and a half ago) I just had my electrical engineer friend re-solder it. This time we are re-soldering and installing a jumper wire from the terminal blade to one of the other solder pads on the traces connected to that terminal. If the solder fails again it will still work thru the jumper wire. I will post pictures once it is done.

You could easily add a cabin filter at the fresh air duct located in the far passenger side lower wiper cowl. I experimented with a couple different HEPA vacuum filters in Bawazirs car because of his constant complaints of fumes in the cabin. I can't recall what we ended up doing/using but with very little imagination, there is plenty of room to fab one up.

My air comes out of my defrost vents. What is causing the problem?

You EATC o-rings went bad. You need to replace them with the silicone type.
Get in touch with Russ (03MMMonroe ?) he is down your way and can fix it in like 20 minutes.

^^^ This.
I've been telling people for years now that it is possible to make a cabin air filter by figuring out something with the fresh air inlet under the cowl. Good to see someone else figured it out lol.

Just an FYI....
Monroe, N.C. is a long way from Greenville, N.C. On the other hand Greenville is a short drive from Cary.............
Russ doesn't do mail order EATC repairs. I do.

so, if it mainly blows out of the defrost and floor, the o-rings are bad? i've notice that when i slow down, it will come through the vents for a min then change back to defrost.
