Ive noticed several threads on paint. It seems the hood was sprayed separately from the car with a different paint lot. Look at it at different angles and you will see what I mean.
This paint usually gets crows feet. The roof gets the peely blisters which rust. It looks like the only paint that is any good is the sides. Just an observation.

Maybe we should look for a "group" buy on repainting our cars?

Add an extra day to Marauderville X for a drive-thru paint shop.

They paint cars at the factory with all body panels installed. If you unbolt your hood and trunk lid you will see primer underneath.

You may be correct but the hood is not shot (at least on a black MM) with the same paint. I can see a shades difference clearly between the two. I have no damage on the sides. The roof look like a 13 year olds pimply face and my hood looks like an old mans azz.. Lol. Painting the roof and hood next month.

Here is a line of cars as they came out of the paint shop.

I have the bubbles on the roof and to a lessor extent the trunk. My hood was repainted (twice- dealer didn't do a good job the first time) prior to delivery due to obvious hood paint issues at the time. My roof is real bad. It started about 2 years ago. I have been spot touching with a rust convertor until I could get the roof and trunk repainted (in the next month, I hope). The hood still looks ok. Sides still look good too.
Wish we had some recourse as a group to help pay for this, even in part would be nice. It is obvious Ford had some problems with paint on our cars (mine is an 04 BTW). My black 85 Saleen paint is still good, except for where I polished through the paint to the primer in a thin area on the nose, just forward of the fender. So they knew how to do good paint back in 85!

My roof has 1 rust spot the size of a pen tip, then the rest is ok, except for no clearcoat apparently so 3 bird bomb etchings. If the wind blows I think the roof gets scratched. Then the hood and trunk both have bad crows feet, and the hood also has very thin clear. My sides look fine.
