Anybody dropping one of the new 5.0's in a Marauder yet. If so,...do the factory 5.0 headers work and does anyone have a long tube header for this application yet? I am seriously considering this upgrade.:beatnik:

If we could shoehorn an Chevy Gen III Vortec LQ9 6.0 and Checy BB in a Marauder I am sure it's a matter of time before we will have a Coyote in a Marauder.

The engine will fit, bolt up to your trans too (you'll need an external driver to run it) but long tube headers will have to be custom made.

Yes you're going to need a Coyote PCM to run the engine, and you'll need a separate one to run it with a 4R70W, or you can try and find an 11+ wrecked Mustang with a 6R80 auto and swap that in too.

With money, anything is possible.

If my MMR engine blows up, it's gonna be a blown LS3 for me.

6R80 = 6-speed auto!

Yes I know that, the MT-82 manual is too frail to lug around a 4,200lbs car.

I know you know but I just wanted to say it cause it would be a great trans for the MM, hello gas mileage increase. lol

Problem with any of this is emissions. Doesn't federal law not allow any swap not designed for the vehicle? Engine must be same year or newer but must also come from the same make/model or so I thought. No emissions? Might wanna think about the day you sell it, you'll have a very limited buyers market I'm sure. This is the very reason I just don't go 429/460 and through a damn carb on it!

Federal law mandates that if the engine is replaced it must be the same year or newer, for insurance companies paying a mech or dealership for an engine replacement it must be out of the same year make and model vehicle. Making sure there is no CEL and all the emissions controls are working is the biggest issue.

If your state doesn't have emissions then there is no issue with turning a FI car into a carb. There are carb kits for the 4.6 dohc and I guess a stand alone engine management system. Also if the motor is a crate motor then it's considered new and the federal year law factor doesn't apply from what I have read on stuff like this in the past.

Good info Chris, but the way I won't mind going has no computer. I don't think they would appreciate an 03 with no OBD2 port? :)

And yes, we have emissions here. Have had them up our arse for close to 20 years now.
