Will be heading over from Manitowoc, WI on the ferry to Ludington on Tuesday, will stay in Ludington on Tuesday evening and drive down to South Haven on Wednesday.

I just spoke to Eileen at the desk and she is still carrying the $89.99 rate for Marauderville attendees and knows nothing about any other rate. May not be able to affect those of us already booked and confirmed at the slightly higher rate. Apparently nothing happened today to fix it to the contracted rate of $89.00 flat.

I just talked to the motel management and they are correcting the room rate back to 89.00. For those that have already booked they will correct the rate. The only add on should be the 8% sales tax. Hope this gets it cleared up!:)

Just looked at the hotel's website; if I reserve a room (1 queen bed) online, I get the following quotes:

Avg nightly rate: $75.20
4 nights: $300.80
Tax: $24.06
Total: $324.06

Just wondering if I will 'miss out' on anything or will take money away from MM.net if I go this route versus calling and saying "I'm with Marauderville"?

I'm not trying to create a stir or cause any heartburn...if I can save $50-60 by reserving a room online, then that's $50-60 I'll have in my pocket to buy more raffle tix and/or MM.net goodies...

If you went to the hotel's website, the rates were cheaper than the original $89 group rate we were quoted. I think if you reserved 4 nights, it was $72/night, and 3 nights was $79/night. I brought this up when I discovered it a month ago; our group rate has since been lowered to $79/night, regardless of how many nights you reserve.

Wether or not booking via means other than calling has an impact on the MM.net 'community chest' is unknown...I called earlier today and made my reservation. IMO, any rate that's not triple digits is a good deal...hotels around here usually double their 'normal' rate during high tourist cycles...
