i wanted to get supercharged by this time next year and was just wondering a couple things

when i bought my car it had 98,xxx and it was a mess engine knock and the trnamission was just not shifting right so i pretty much got my MM for nothing but the interior and external was in excellent shape

so before i was a member here i got a rebuilt motor and transmsiion from jasper and installed my bob bell ford in gb. i wish i would have been a member here bec if was i know i would have got a better more hp motor like a 324 c.i stroker or boss stroker or sometihng of the short, alos probaly would have got the 04 trnas since i heard they were a little better, but that didnt happen bec didnt kno knows better so just to the stock replacment and regret it bec one day would like alot of hp

so what supercharger could i go with, with just the stock 03 MM motor and trans since both are a completer rebuild combo just a eaton or a trilogy would be recommended is my guess or vortech on low boost maybe?

but like i said i wanna eventually have like 600 hp and would love to go whipple SC but since they are powerful chargers i would need some internal work on the motor right some forged internals and stuff right?

thnaks for any advice guys

I've road in Impalaslayer with his mid 400 #'s and felt like I was in a rollercoaster. 600 I think would be a bit too much I say. 600 you will NEVER use on street only track. Stock motor tuner told me no more then 450 he feels is the limit for our cars.

First, if you get your tranny rebuilt right, with the right parts it will be better than any stock '04 tranny or any '03 tranny.

With a same tune & boost you can run any of the superchargers on any motor you just have to not go crazy with the boost.

As for 600hp you can get a motor & tranny built to handle any HP / torque combination..... How much money you spend will determine how much HP you can safely run.

600hp.... where are you going to use that on the street?

I'd try to drive MM's with the different types of S/C's to see which one you like the best and fits your driving style.

right now DD but dont plan on it being for long when supercharged would make it my weekend/ car show/ track car barely have it on street unless wanna show it off or something you know i really like whipple would the 3.4 be too much bec i know that one could get me to 600 if done up right

Run any blower you want!

Just run LOW BOOST on your stock block and you should be fine.

FWIW, if you're considering going to a Whipple down the road, an Eaton swap or Trilogy would be the way to go.

If you're gonna go Trilogy, better snap up the one posted up, as that's the last one out there AFAIK.

You may wanna drive a 450 hp car before deciding to go all-out for 600 hp. Cost rises expotentially as HP goes up.

450 HP will cost you between $4,500 and $7,000, bumping that up to 600 will cost well over $10K, prolly closer to $20,000 when all is said and done.

Yup, like Banjo Mathews used to say, "Speed costs money, kid; how fast you wanna go?"

There is no such thing as enough power for the street as long as the car is setup right.
About the tranny, just Jmod it and ditch the stock stall. No need to spend money where is not needed unless you need to.

I made a thread asking almost the same question about a year ago. Might want to check it out, a lot of people gave good information such as engine & blower options, and expected HP. It should be in the "Shop Talk" section or "Power Adders". I'm not gonna do all the work, gotta search for it yourself :)

H'mmm now let me see, my son brad (1 Bad Merc) who is on his third engine has I bet $13,000/15,000 before adding headers, supercharger etc, etc. The beat seems to never stop!!!

You do know that your talking about an entire new fuel system, built rear, all suspension, big brakes, tuning costs, shall I keep going? :)

Keep it simple at 450, or take on a good project at 600. The cost to get there safely way out trumps the cost to achieve 450.

^^^^^^^ I agree with Bob. 450 RWHP is a bargain, relatively speaking, when compared to 600 RWHP.
