You sure it's the diff clutches and not an axle? When you do a burnout, do both tires spin or only one?

Good price, but you may want to confirm clutch material on the Motive kit. OEM Ford are Kevlar (IIRC).

Haven't done a burn out recently lol but are you thinking my axle shafts are going?

If the rear end is growling, it could well be an axle. Mine started making noise on the driver's side. Sure enough, bad axle, ground down pretty deep (.062"+), took over 2 1/2 hours to clean out the axle housing and diff, fortunately, the gears were okay, but we had to rebuild the clutch pack. FWIW, I went the the OEM rebuid kit; that's how I know about the Kevlar clutch disks.

Have you changed the fluid lately without friction modifier?

How close are you to Asheville? I can recommend a mechanic to take a look at your car...ask me how I know. :D

I'm in clarksville which is about 45 mind north of nashville and I had that hydroplaning accident back at the beginning of the year in which they "replaced my drivers side axle shaft" and I'm pretty sure I lost some fluid with them doing that but I'm not sure theyput more in or added modifier

To replace an axle shaft, you have to remove the diff cover, which drains the fluid. If they had half a brain, they refilled it properly. If they put in fluid with no FM, you would experience the exact effect you're describing. Before you spend time and money rebuilding the diff, try changing the fluid.

Oops! My bad! getting clutch bands mixed up with diff disks. :o

Excellent point, Bob; hadn't even given that a thought.

K what about royal purple doesn't that have the modifier mixed in already? And yes I realize this is probably gonna get blown out of proportion between regular and synthetic fluids just a general question for those whom can answer...

Royal Purple does have the FM built in...so do many other brands, but read the fine print first to be sure.

Use 75w140 fluid. Redline has the FM already in it.

Is that the weight for better mileage?(75w140)

Oh yeah, now I remember...you mentioned 'clarksvegas' in one of your posts a while back.

I'd follow the advice of the 'well-learned' ones...they know their s***! Good luck!
