So I am sitting at my desk doing some work and I'm watching Tech TV and they start talking about a chip that fits into a slot under the dashboard ("somewhere", they say) that will log all kinds of data automatically; then using a cable, transfer it all to your PC. I bet everyone on this board has a computer, right??!!

anyway, here is the link to the sight of the company that will be selling the thing.

I will order it just to see how fast the wife drives the car when I am not around.

Looks like we'll see these on rental cars and maybe for insurance discounts for teen age drivers.

Screw that! (Me being 18 and all...) Besides, my 79 Lincoln has no POS OBD, so :p

You've got the right answer. Stick with the oldies, but goodies, if my concerns prove up.

ok - they let me know that they are now in production and I placed an order for the more expensive model that logs more details and 300 hours of driving (two year's worth for me!). I will provide more info when my unit arrrives and after i play with it a bit.
