Ok, not the trend to go a high stall torque convertor with a roots blower but Lonnie has never dissapointed .
I did have a PI 3000 for a few months and put the stock one back. The few things I did not like about the PI hopefully will be minimal.
The tip in at cruiseing speed was a little strange jerky feeling and it seemed to blow right past the torque curve on launch.
I have been wanting to beef up the transmission for quite some time and now the big cooler & tailshaft forced lube mod are done the convertor is ordered;

trans temps saw 205* at the last data logging session , I was hoping to take another sample now that the cooler is installed and before the stall goes in.

I will be getting a bigger cooler and swapping my T/C with the one Embassy gave me. This summer is not doing good things on my tranny.. The shifts are 100% break neck at anything over 80*.

With the positive displacement you want a tight conveter, you also want one that you can lockup at wot on third gear. A good 2600-2800 rpm stall would be perfect. I have been saying this for years.
With said swap, you eliminate having the stock tc crap on you and take the tranny with it, you will also shave close to a half of second in the 1320.

I've got a 9.5" 2800-3200 stall converter on my car and it really made a difference on my 60'.
I tried locking it up in 3rd but it pulled the rpm down too much and ended up going slower. Now that I'm running more boost it might work out better.

Heretic! Myth Buster! You would be so much quicker with a 2,600 stall and you know it!

Lol. For the gizillion time Billy a higher stall is always better on et. But most marauder owners don't want to deal with it on a daily bassis. That's why a 26-2800 is the best all around on a PD blower.

Unfortunatly I don't think we have much run data from last year with the 3k stall. I will check. But the trans was not right most of last year. Best sixty ever was a 1.44 with the trilogy and a 175 shot of N20 at 3000 rpm which was pretty much instant, in cold weather too I believe.

I went considerably higher, 36-3800 and it is absoulety perfect!I was very wary of all the warnings about this but Lonnie Doll assured me, I would not have harsh charactaristics with this mod.
He was spot on again!
I love it!

It is all IN THE TUNE!
I have had a High Stall for 130K. My teenager learned how to drive on my MM and my other family members have had no trouble "dealing" with it, because there is nothing to deal with.

I drove Lonnies Town Car, when I was in Indy getting re-tuned in 2010.
He said did you have issue with driving the town car?
He followed with ," it has a stall and it drives really nice!"
