This engine is the baddest mod motor we could possibly think up, and the budget reflects that. This longblock has about $20,000 invested in it.

- Teksid block with 3.7005 Darton MID sleeves (setup has been tested to not leak, originally machined by VT Engines)
- Custom Sonny Bryant billet stroker crank
- Manley Pro Billet rods
- L&M Racing Spec custom Diamond pistons
- Total Seal Ringet SS/Iron 1.5/1.5/3
- Clevite H-Bearings - Polydyn Coated
- Melling forged housing oil pump with billet gears
- Cometic head gaskets
- New head dowels
- Crank, rods, oil pan, pistons, combustions chambers, and exhaust ports all ceramic coated
- Heads are Stg 3 heads from Modular Head shop in florida
- .5mm oversize SS valve upgrade
- Double valve spring setup
- Bullet Racing custom cams made for a supercharger and large "lope"
- New timing assembly

Compression ratio should be 9.5:1. Engine should make 475 crank horsepower with no power adder. Built to withstand 35psi boost pressure.

I don't have any illusions about getting near what I paid for it but im just done with it. Started this whole project 2 years ago and the excitement has left me. I don't really have a desire to go ridiculously fast anymore. Engine is in final assembly phase. Engine is actually a 5.3L engine, not 5.5L.

its 5.5L? Not 5.3L wet sleeve?

It's 5.5L because the combustion chambers on the heads have been enlarged to the bore size of the cylinders.

Here is a picture of the block and sleeve setup before it was cleaned and assembled.

Wet sleeve essentially means the sleeve is in direct contact with the coolant and allows for improved cooling on the cylinders.

Enlarging the combustion chambers does not increase the volume of the engine, but it does reduce the compression ratio. What you have is a 5.287 liter engine.

Lotsa good parts in the bottom end. What's the dish volume of the pistons?

To give you an idea of where yours should be power wise, the last BB stroker I did made 460rw@7250 with 10.5:1 compression, mild cams and a sullivan.

Todd your last bigbore was 460rw in a Marauder?

It was in a 98 Cobra. In a marauder it would have been about 5% less with its auto transmission.

Ah yeah...you're right! Little google research verifys it. That is my fault really...I guess I got a little measurement happy . Dish volume on the pistons....now that is an excellent question.

See this is why I should not have put this ad together while I was offshore. I will get many more details when I get back on land. I threw together with what I had and obviously made some mistakes with measurements and such. All the parts are right but I guessed on numbers. Please keep that in mind everyone until I update the add in a week and a half.
