Was cleaning the MM today and decided to pop the hood to see if the engine bay needed attention. I pulled the hood release and I heard it release but hood didn't pop up. I've noticed before that if the car has been sitting in the sun for a while, the hood is 'sticky', but it's always popped up enough for me to get my fingers in there. It's not even popping up at all....help!
TIA...

Try pressing down on the leading edge while someone tries to open it.

I think it's terminal, Kyle. Save yourself the time, money and all the headaches and heartache that goes with this repair and sell me your car for, like, $8.00...

;) ^^^^^ What Jim said. ^^^^^ (Mine does this periodically, too.)

When you do get it open adjust the bump stops up a little

Sometimes mine won't pop up when you release it with the handle. I just slam the door and it pops right up.

What he said, but then also spray the hood latch mechinism with some lubricant. I do mine once a year. The fact that there is no hood gasket allows the elements to wash the lubicants away, keep it lubbed you will be good. :)
I would die if I couldn't open my hood!!!

Thanks for the advice and sorry for being lazy and not searching for a previous thread...was getting ready to leave to get my kids when I posted up...will try out the 'methods of madness' suggested to get my hood to open. About 2 or 3 weeks ago I was messing with the bump stops because the front corner on the pass side was not sitting flush with the rest of the car...guess this may have something to do with my problem as well.

To open a stuck hood.
Do not Scratch your paint with a screwdriver like one Marauder owner did. 1) If a second person is available pull the hood release steadily as the other bumps on the hood in the front.
2) Jack up the front of the car and use a broom handle to push up from the bottom thru the engine compartment.
Lube the release mechanism and hood hinge pin areas.

If you pull the latch and it doesn't open, I do not recommend you go flying down the road unless you push back down on it to make sure it is not unlatched. Might suck hitting a bump and your hood decides that is the time it will open. I guess the hook could still catch and it migh only come up an inch but I've had a car that would unlatch the hood on hard launches. It would also bust shock mounts and snap the rear swaybar. Good times!

I pushed down on it yesterday before I hit the road to get my kids...I heard it 'click' back into locked position, but I noticed on the drive, at speeds above 60mph, the hood looked like it was trying to come open...never noticed that before...

That's just from the asphalt shredding, tire melting and steel bending power the MM has.
