Putting in a pioneer x940bt in and looking for a good location for the gps antenna. Any ideas

Mine is on the trunk! Centered right in front of the 3rd. brake light.

If you want it concealed, under the plastic panel that is on top of the dashboard, it runs along the windshield, unsnap the passenger side, and there is a spot that the antenna can be placed, and it will work just fine through the plastic and glass, alternately, you can place it under the package shelf as close to the rear window as possible, there are several locations that are good to use back there.

thanks did not know if it had to be on the roof or in in side car is ok will find something clean.

It will work fine inside the car. Most stereo installers will put it somewhere on the dash unless requested otherwise. I've had 4 different nav units in as many cars and the gps antenna was always located in the vehicle. It is not as strong of a signal/reception by being placed in the car, but will function just fine 99.9% of the time.

I put mine center right on top of the dash works great last 2 years never an issue.

Mine is on the rear package tray, next to the CHMSL.
