Mo does a great job with N/A tunes, but if you're expecting huge changes over your current performance tune, you may be a bit disappointed. He can no doubt tweak a bit and get you some improvements, but IMO, you'll want have the car dynoed if you want to squeeze every last bit of power out of it.

Do you have any other mods besides a tune?

+1 for MO's SCT Tune. Mine is stock for engine, gearing and it surely woke the car up. Hopefully soon, I can get my Vortech unit installed and really liven it up, but until then I am pleased with MO's SCT Tune:banana2:

It's not as bad as you think...especially on long commutes like you have from Houston to the Big D. MPG difference is around 1-2mpg, but for s's and g's, let's say 3mpg. So, you would get approx 55 miles less on a tank of gas. that's approx 3 gallons of gas...how much does 3 gallons of gas cost in your area? Around here, it would be about $11.

I did skew my numbers to the 'high' side, so I imagine the 'real' numbers would be closer to 2mpg diff, 40 miles less, 2 gallons of gas, $7-$7.50 extra...maybe even less.

I have been keeping tabs on my mpg since my install. I've been driving mostly city (to/from school and around town) and my mpg has dropped from ~ 19-19.5 to 16.8 on my last fill up. (258.1miles/15.364gal) I haven't gone on any long drives yet, but was getting in the neighborhood of 22/23mpg before install. (IIRC, I got 23.4 to/from MV9 and 22.9 to/from Louisville)

How the car 'wakes up' after a 410 install and tune is worth the extra $$$, IMO....

Did you have to get anything done with your transmission after you had your 4.10s installed because i went with the 3.73s because they say 4.10s make the motor work alot and you might have to get your transmission re done

You'll need to re-set your shift schedule via your tuner, but Mo can do that in the tune he'll sell you. No need to worry about anything else with the trans.

Engine will only run maybe 100 rpm higher than with your 3.73 gears (prolly around 2,400 rpm at 75 mph), and if anything, will run better (i.e. work less) as you'll be up a bit higher in the power band.

Literally hundreds and hundreds of us have installed 4.10s, and a guarantee, the results are worth it. A tune and 4.10 gears are THE single best bang for the buck. Beyond that, start saving for a S/C.

Who is "they"? Because "they" obviously know much.....

Is 200 RPM really making the motor work harder?

What exactly is re-setting the shift schedule? In other words how do you go about doing such tuning?

I bought my NA tunes with the tuner, one for 3.55s and the other for 4.10s, so I didn't have to do any resetting on my own. But I do know that if you install the lower gears without adjusting the tune, your speedo and the shift points will be off (IIRC, it reads slower than actual, and the upshifts are early).

Give Jeff at Mo's a holler, he should be able to give the specifics.

I bought a handheld SCT tuner last fall and had 3 tunes loaded on it (3.55/93oct, 4.10/91oct, & 4.10/93oct), so didn't have to worry about messing with my trans. I actually forgot about loading the 4.10 tune until the next day...was too excited having my 4.10s! I was reminded about doing this when I noticed it seemed like I was going slower than what the speedo was saying the next day. Loaded up my 4.10 tune (took only 5 minutes) and have been enjoying it since.

BTW, topped it off yesterday (7 cents off/gallon premium at Enmark on Tuesdays); 16.68mpg. 230.4 miles/13.815 gallons. I can live with that...

The difference between 3.55s and 3.7s is very little and not worth the expense.
