Tyson's Ford Car Show Pics -- 10 June 2012

Some pics from today's show ... Congratulations to Joe Walsh who took 1st Place Overall Best of Show "Peoples Choice" for his 427 Cobra pictured below. Since Joe left early, I accepted the trophy for him and of course promptly took pics of it with MY car. What the Heck. ;) Nice going Joe. We gotta stop doing this .... people are starting to think I'm your "younger" brother.

The Shermanator took a Top 20. Not bad for two Marauderers to take home winnings in a show that was 99% Mustangs. We were all parked in the back so they could keep us together. 8 MMs showed (4 Black, 2 SB. 1 DTR, and 1 DBP). It was an awesome show .... FREE registration, FREE food and drinks, and FREE entertainment all day. And the Vaughn Gittin's "Drifting & Smoke Show". They were raffling off ride-alongs during the shows. He absolutely torched 4 sets of tires during the day. Just can't be beat it. Great turnout gang. Finally got to meet blackwater1311. :up: And welcome to Brad33 ... a newcomer in the CAMLand area. Thanks to F8LBITEva(Jose) for setting this up and getting us to come out to the show.

Rounding out the MM gang were 71Cyclone, Bluerauder, Mebot and Showroom.

Guess who made an appearance at the show today? Merc and Mrs. Merc .... they are "original" CAM members. In fact, Merc was one of the first MM.Net members that I met more than 8 years ago.

Thanks, Jose !!! I am glad someone was able to get some video and post it up to the site. I left my FLIP Video camera in the car and forgot that I even brought it until I was on the way home. :o

They raffled off Ride-Alongs on each of the drifting runs so 4-5 people got a thrill during each of the sessions that took place every hour or so. I don't think anyone in our group won a ride with Vaughn Gittin.

Showroom took home 3-4 raffle prizes from the batch of tickets he had.

It was a nice surprise when you called me later that day to tell me that I'd won.
I'll have to leave these car shows early all the time....last time I left early was the Safford Lincoln Mercury Car Show and I won the $500 door prize!

Made a run up to Maryland today and was able to link up with Joe for the trophy :trophy1: transfer. The ceremony was short. Joe's speech wasn't too long and there was some crying :cry: but I'll get over having to give the trophy back. ;)

It is now in the hands of its rightful owner. :2thumbs:
