Well the dealer installed the new engine. I got to start the engine for the first time. Well it rattled its ass off for about 5 seconds then had a solid knock. No compression on #1. They pulled the valve cover off to make sure a cam follower hadnt been spit out. Everything looked fine. New engine is ordered and on the way.

First thing I thought. Wonder if someone is missing a socket?

Some service writer is making a new RO with SPW line. Unfortunately reman engines and trans are done outside contract with local rebuilders. Lord knows I've done a few SPW's within minutes of road testing. NOT FUN :bigcry:

Yup, new ford reman. Hope the next one is put together right. It didnt make me mad but it was depressing. Oh well another 2-3 weeks for another one. I had them clean the car up and I put my car cover on it.

One would "think" that the dealer would at least give it a test drive before calling you in only to make 'em look like fools!

I'll bet one of the workers at the rebuilder took a shortcut and drove the damper on with an impact instead of the correct tool. Saves time, but ruins the oil pump. Start it up, no oil pressure, rattling and then death to the bottom end...

Too bad..

Did they even put oil in it?

Engine was full of oil. I was the first person to start the motor. Gauge showed good oil pressure. I checked it. Something was just not put together correctly. Hope the next one is perfect. I would really love to get my car back. Its been at the dealer since april the 23rd.
