thinking of the SW Headers with High Flow Cats replacing the one stock set of cats I have. Quick queston, what is the time and cost I would be looking at to have someone do them and is it a straight install or do other parts have to be moved or removed, like the block etc? and will I pick up a noticeable interior noise, hopefully if so, not crazy loud.
I know a lot of this has been discussed in many threads, just looking for a quick short answer,, thanks

Average cost for installation has been $500.00. The only thing that has to be removed for install is the starter. SW headers & high flow cat to oem mufflers will be much louder than stock. I had a mid muffler installed two in/out. Now just as qiuet as stock.

thanks man, I think I have to find and drive one with the headers, I really like my set up a ton now, no second cat, 2 1/2 mids, X, magnaflows and the 4" res delete tips, it is perfect, so I don't want to be blasted out of the cabin with header noise..

Run away from the SW cats, they are garbage. We've had two out of two sets fail here, and contribute to other problems. I organized the group buy, and I'm sorry I did.

Wow,,, gotcha, is this a general theme here, that the cats are problematic, not the headers themselves, just to be clear. If thats the case, I will definitely just go with headers and drop in a Magnaflow 200 Cell instead,,
thanks for the heads up...

I had very bad experience with another company's high flow cats for my customers car.
I have NO experience good or bad with SW.
I am on the fence right now with ordering headers from SW but If I do I might try and fit them to my stock frt cats.
In the middle of of several other issues and projects with car.

Header install went fine for me, though a small number of folks had problems with steering shaft clearance issues. The cats are a sub-standard part that have failed in a significant number of s/c cars.

Magnaflow Muffled X pipe is what I have. Re: 2 in and 2 out. It's as quiet as stock, but you can hear it when you go WOT.

How do they fail? Does the catalyst under-perform or does something mechanical happen? Is there a high flow drop in replacement from another company? I remember people speaking well of the Aeros.

Codes P0420 and/or they break apart and clog muffler.

And I'll be skipping the cats. Eeeeeek. Much cheaper to bend some pipe. Thanks.

Not to defend SW at all ,,, and we should wait for them to respond in the other thread, but I noticed when I looked at the Parts list they post online for the MAUCAT, they have listed the Ceramic Cat, so I specifically asked SW in the other group buy thread which ones we would get with the kit. He said they were the Metal ones, so, any chance that at the time of your group buy they were actually giving Ceramic's, and have since changed to the Metal? and if so, I guess we have to find out how they perform?.....

What part of them is ceramic? Is it just the coating?

We currently use a 200 Cell Metal Matrix catalytic converter that is a much improved design over the 400 cell. The current 200 cell has proven to hold up very well to supercharged applications if the Air-Fuel Ratio is on point. No matter which manufacturer is chosen, Air-Fuel ratio is critical at all throttle positions, all RPM levels, etc... Typically the converters becomes questionable when running any type of power adder, then again each application varies. We have seen vehicles running 600+ of supercharged power and hi-flow cats without an issue. If your N/A you shouldn't have any issue at all running a quality hi-flow cat.
What's really nice with our Stainless Works (http://www.stainlessworks.net) designed headers & exhaust is the hi-flow cats can be interchanged with our off-road delete pipe (Cat Delete). This is great if you want to head to the track on the weekend, it will allow you to remove the cats for multiple runs at WOT.

Thanks for the explanation. Sounds like a different part completely.

Just delete the cats altogether. As long as the tune turns off the rear sensors, who cares?

Not gunna touch rear cat unless I upgrade the engine. No point at I'll be at 450. Current tune uses all 4 cats.

Thanks for the info on the change to the Metal Cats Paul...
Now, for the natural progression here, has anyone that got these Metal Cats with the Headers had any issues with them.. Just trying to cover this last base before deciding to go with them.
Thanks all

I have them installed for more than a year now with no issue, and I've raced it quite a bit. 13.9 @ 99 NA.
