Blower Motor Resistor

My '05 Crown Victoria will ony blow on high.
Which I am sure is the blower motor resistor.
I have Auto -Climate/ Eatc.

I recently replaced the ORINGS in the EATC and chcked for leaks.

My vents seem to be stuck between defrost and floor.
Could the blower resistor be effecting that at all?

No, the BMC (Blower Motor Controller) only affects the blower motor.

I pulled the eatc back out and it looks good to me, the springs and orings are in and the red conector is properly connected.

Are there common places these ars get vaccum leaks?

Vacuum has nothing to do with the blower. Your problem is most likely the blower control module. It has a relay to give you the high speed and a transistor that does the other speeds. So if the transistor fails you can still have high but nothing else.

Well I KNOW the bower motor resistor is bad.
It is defaulting to only high.

I am more concerned about AC hitting my windshield and not working out the vents.

I removed the EATC and switched the orings.

I am getting a sucking vacuum from the white tube in the bundle of tubing that connects to the back of the eatc.

Is there any other way I should be checking for vacuum from that tubing.

If your car has ETAC IT DOES NOT have a blower motor resistor. So NO your blower motor resistor is NOT bad since it doesn't exist. Cars with ETAC has a Blower Control Module. In it is a relay to give the motor full power for high speed and a transistor that the ETAC controls the intermediate speeds by varying the duty cycle of the gate signal to that transistor. IE it rapidly turns the power to the fan on and off so that it sees an average voltage that corresponds to the desired speed.

ryan, there is only one source of vacuum to the EATC. All the other ports are supply lines from the EATC to the various vacuum motors behind the dash. Prolly the easiest way to determine the issue is to borrow another EATC and see what happens...

You may have a vacuum leak in the engine compartment. Check all the hoses.

The BCM is most likely bad if the blower only works on high.

ok i meant the blower controller... which is out, and i was going to replace last week, but they ordered me in the resistor type for manual climate control even though i told them it had auto climate control.... so another week to ship one to idaho....

anyways, it was my eatc even after i replaced the orings it wasn't switching from vent to doors... i had to tighten the 4 parts inside to make a better seal and now I have air to vents and floor.

BUT.... at first my ac would work once in a while when i fixed the eatc.... but now it doesn't seem to kick on the clutch or compressor or what ever kicks on when you press ac..... i just get room temp air.

ideas?
