I took my kids to Atco Raceway today for the Nostalgia drags and got the best present they could give to me (not counting the handmade cards).

Took my kids downtown to 'Splashville'...a large water fountain with around 15-20 jets that randomly squirt water. We had fun and they eventually begged and pleaded enough for me to join in the fun and get wet. Afterwards, went to Cook-Out and sat outside, enjoying the late afternoon sun and dried off as well. Then had to bring em back to the ex...that part of every weekend sucks the most. I had plans to shoot some pool and have a few beers with a buddy of mine after I dropped my kids off, but I canxed on him because I just wasn't feeling much like having 'adult fun'.

However, yesterday my daughter (she's 7) convinced me to buy her some 'high heels'...the heel is just 1" high, so I figured NBD. Well, she couldn't wait to show them to Mommy. So when she showed them off to her this evening, she didn't have a very happy look on her face (the ex). Turns out they had had a big, long ordeal about high heels earlier in the week...oh well, I didn't know. She usually gives me a 'heads up' when the kids might try to 'put one over' on me, but not this time. I don't think my daughter owning one pair of heels is a big deal. So, when my girl saw that Mommy wasn't as excited about them as she was, she started crying and said, "you hate me!". I sheepishly said, 'oops'...but with a little grin on my face.

I don't like to admit that I enjoyed the drama, but I did...

Spent the day grilling and chillin with the girls, friends and grand children. Chicken Stew, grilled burgers and dogs, BBQ chicken. Brought three large boxes of cupcakes and cookies from my bakery. Swam until they all grew fins. Ate until they exploded.

I spent the weekend in Wisconsin with my parents. Especially my dad who I just learned is very ill and may very well be his last fathers day. So I had a great weekend spending time with him just talking, cruising the lake, having some beers, watching him and my daughter, sharing laughs and even silent moments.

Was a great memorable fathers day.

Never too late to say this but Happy Fathers Day to everyone reading this..hope everyone spend an awesome day with their loved ones:) but who says fathers day is only one day?? Tomorrow to me its going to be Mother's/Fathers day! Gonna take my dad to the shooting range than towards the afternoon take mama shopping and at night enjoy family time:D
