I purchased a replacement Marauder for the one that was wrecked. The ‘new’ one has 25,245 miles on it. The new MM is a 2003, production date June 2002. On the freeway the rear end was making a Woo-Woo sound, however, it was quiet in town. I pinned the noise to the passenger rear wheel area.
I had the rear axles pulled for inspection and there was the dreaded gauling on the passenger side axle shaft. The driver side axle shaft looked like it just started to gaul. Both new axle shafts, bearings, and $660 later, I am back Marauder'ing.

sorry about your bad luck right from the start. Good luck from here on out! Where the heck are all these low mileage marauders hiding!

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think there were bulletins about early build axle issues. Not everyone got the fix under warrantee...... I think its $$ well spent tho....... I had an early build Marauder like you, and mechanically it was stellar. Good luck moving forward:beer:

Issue wasn't confined to just the early builds, I had problems with the DS axle on my car, and it was one of the last '03s built.

Other than that, though, the car's been great.
