All started when pug got pulled out the head while driving almost 3 months ago. Tap a metal sleeve in and a week later head started tapping. Put new lifters in got even worse and turned into a blown head gasket. Took heads off got them reconditioned, brother threw cam retainers away so had to buy another head again. Got another head that was reconditioned already so just ended having to be resurfaced. So Saturday night when put back together and feeling confident, starts but no idle. Says it jumped timing, Left it alone. Sunday morning messing with it and tries to spin cams and they only go so far and stop. Looked at the back of cans and reads the number and figures out the cams are on wrong on passenger side. So all fixed now and see radiator has a hole in it. Fixed that. All is well drove to Wal-Mart get home and see smoke, now I got a oil leak. Waited 3 months whats a extra day to throw down new gasket. :cool:

congrats on getting her up and running again. have you isolated where the leak is coming from?

I looked for it but can't find it. Seen it was dripping on the cats so it's coming from the back off valve cover I wanna say. I hope!!. May have came out the groove when we put it on. As many times the motors been broken down taking valve cover off is a peice of cake.

Valve cover was a PITA I tell you. Saw one thread where he shaved the corner and boy did it help out A LOT! She's back on the read feeling as stronger now. Fresh top end, fixed exhaust leak. dad and brothers said with the resurfacing done my compression should go up, more hp :)
