hi folks, i use since a few years FRAM oil filters. Now i think about to change the brand and swap to motorcraft filters. is that a good decision, or is FRAM perfectly good?

FRAM €7.00
Motorcraft €9.65
but if you mean, motorcraft is the best, i will try it
Motorcraft is far better than Fram, much larger filtration area, higher single pass effeciency, silicone anti-drain back valve, higher flow rate.

Motorcraft for me every time.
Get away from Fram. They are lesser quality that Motorcraft, as well as the others stated above.

Also, Motorcraft filters have the bypass valve located at the threaded end, which is where Ford wants it.

Over the years, MANY issues have been reported with FRAM oil filters including warnings from various auto manufacturers.
*Do a Google
Issues include (though are not limited to): dry starts due to anti-siphoning valve.
quality.
filtration.
low grade filter components. As a shop manager/service advisor in a previous life, I've worked several turbo-charged Volkswagen and Audi engine warranty claims where FRAM oils filters were to blame.
Been using FoMoCo OEM filters (Autolite in the old days, and Motorcraft since) for 50years without any issues.

Motorcraft or Purolator Gold are wise choices, both are made by the same parent company.

Fram are garbage! I used to work at a parts store and we cut a Fram open and a Purolater and the Fram was terrible compared to Purolater, however I don't like Purolater either. Motorcraft is what I use but I will also use WIX filters. The WIX are a great quality filter also.

yes, but 18.00 per piece!!!! EUROIsn't that about what a litre of oil costs?
Sorry, couldn't resist.
Out of curiosity, how often do you change the oil in your MM? I know most European-spec cars go much longer than American ones, but since you have an American-spec car I'm interested.
