I have acquired the dreaded "hood squeak" After researching through the forums and posts, (Wish there was a sticky for this :mad2:), Any other recommendations?

Install: Ford Part Number - N804384-S ^^N804384S are the Navigator/Expedition side hood bumper. Also,
N807032S are GM side hood bumpers and can be used.
Adjust: Properly adjust the front round screw type supports up until they contact, and flush with front panel.
Lube: all contact points with sylglide.
Lube: Hood latch with spray lithium grease and also lube the rear hinges by the windshield.
How do you go about submitting for a sticky?

I tried the bumpers but did not work. I used some stuff called grease lightning or white grease something like that it worked

Send a PM to Mary/MM03MOK or to Mike/MM2004 and ask them to make it a sticky in the Garage "Do It Yourself ((DIY)" Forum.

^^^^^ I tried to put "White Lightning" on my hood bumpers but by the time the bottle was half gone, I couldn't remember why I was in the garage in the first place. What's important is that the hood squeak didn't bother me nearly as much anymore. :P

Yep, ole Defyant Marauder has developed this also - again. Been a while since I last excised that demon. IIRC, it was living in the hood latch.
Frankly, I think the CVPI I drive for work is responsible. Probably brought something home from work one night.... and since they both hang around each other.....
I'll medicate both with a healthy dose of lubricant!

Hey, make sure its not coming from the hood latch section, it did for mine. All i did was put electrical tape around the "O" section where the latch...well...latches.

I used grease lightning on all hood latches etc and it's been 6months now and no noises. Try to adjust your bump stops up a bit

Which means your bump stops or latch is not adjusted correctly.

Can't use the bump stops on a fiberglass hood.. I have stayed on top of adjusting my stops over the years till finally it no longer worked. That's when I lowered the latch assembly a tad. Win.

Went out yesterday and noticed the corner of the hood was low on the passenger side just above the headlight. Adjusted the hood stops, squeak stopped. Who'da thought.......

Put a lock nut on your hood stops since they somehow manage to screw themselves down over time.....SQUEAK!!:argue:

I use clear silicone on the threads of the hood adjusters to stop them from coming loose. Unscrew them up about 1/4 inch and put a light coating of clear silicone on the threads. Screw it down until the hood is adjusted correctly. They won"t move again until you want them too.
Been using that stuff for years on older classic cars when installing interior trim screws. Eliminates rattles later on. They don't come loose but come rght out if need be.
Works good on warn/loose Marauder fastening points too.
