Whenever I get out of my car, I use my right foot on the drivers floor to get my azz out of the seat and on my way. In doing so, I would always cause my non-OE floor mat to shift towards the transmission tunnel. This would then leave part of the carpet to be left exposed to whatever I tracked in upon my next drive in the car.
I got tired of the grit on my carpet, and of cobstantly correcting the mats position, so I moved the floor mat hook to where it would work better. I moved it to the left side of the mat, outside of a tall 'ridge'. I cut a small hole in the mat, hooked it up, and problem solved :)
Although, without a grommet in the mat at this position, I'm already starting to tear it up some. I wish the OE mats had a 2nd grommet here, or anywhere on the raised part of the footwell.
