I'm watching videos of car running at the track and got to asking myself, what would actually be need for me or anybody else for that matter to get into the 10s sec in a Marauder. Looking at the time slips bunch of 11's but just just six (not counting the two that are in the 9's they seem to be specifically built for track). Now is it even possible to build a 10 sec marauder and it still be able to drive it everyday? Well want to know your thought and opinions on what would be needed from fuel system, blower etc etc.

Any car capable of 10's would be a handful as a daily driver.

Not if you use a LS motor and you don`t need no power adder to be fast..and you don`t need to stroke a LS motor to be fast.....yep flame suit is on....haha:P.........my LS in my Mustang was a daily drivers with the hydrolic roller cam and went 9.61@141 on motor....

You need a heavily built motor with built bottom, rods, and pistons. You need a bunch of boost. Big Injectors, big fuel pump, big money.
More than that, you need big nerve.
But most of all, you need big support from real smart people.

Lol, some cars can handle lots of power well as a DD, guess we will find out later. And the money answer that's a giving didn't really think I had to excluded that when I was asking.. I was looking for information such as amount of power that would be needed to achieve something like that (without Nos), the small information like built bottom and internals was good.
Trying to learn A LOT more about these cars before I seriously began modding and giving myself a realistic goal for a car that will be daily driven (besides in snow, never again.) FordsNut Marauder is one that I believe is cable of running it maybe even lower, but since I know nothing about his car I ask you guys.. what you think besides money, the power needed trans etc etc
And @ DOOM, lol that's the direction I'm headed in..

I would say ...figure out the power to weight formula...and you will see what power you need to get these 2 ton Full bodied sedans moving @ 10 sec...
I believe with 450 - 500 hp, and a good hook (tires)...you can run 12's all day long ( Trans. with a good shift schedule)...in a 2 ton luxury sedan...
I think I read some where that it takes 100hp to pick up a full sec....In this case...I would guess @ 650hp...to get into the 10's...?
Anyone...Please feel free to correct me, if I'm missing something here...

MarauderTJA's MM is exactly what you have described here and more---however, he is currently awaiting funds to clear for it to be sold ---but check his out just the same--a great guy and a great person---and has a great name---Tom

Driveability....... I drive mine 99.9% street but mine is not a 4v. With 93 octane, 3:55's, M/T 295,50,16's, 2v single 76mm turbo with 500rwhp, and 3500stall it daily's like a factory car until you get on it. now with E85 and 640rwhp it still is like factory out of boost. @WOT any MPH under 70 its like drive on ice on the street when i have it on KILL "20psi"

IIRC, Prozack was running in the mid-10's last year; he runs it on the street occasionally but I don't think too often; his DBP is his street ride.

thank you this was the kind of information I was looking for.
Weather conditions will add .75 to the best time. You want an ll second car you had better go 11.2.
I have 540RWHP and 11.55@ 122 on a DD with 155K miles, drove it 30 miles to work today.
My street tune is 475RWH. I rarely floor it on the street.
I have a Vortech T trim and a Cobra Long Block.
I out run a stock Z06, many a Z06 driver went to the urologist only to be told to go to the proctologist because it disappeared when he lost to a "Grand Marquis".

Well you and MarauderTJA's have centri blowers that's the route I originally wanted to take. I had read that they were a lot better for daily driving which I knew mine would be used for most of the time for, just no luck finding one. so I started collecting parts for an Eaton swap, if I had the knowledge which I fully admit I don't, and the skill I would work on collect parts to make a centri supercharger and put it in my self.
"Coming' in Hot"gave me a ride in both of his Marauders and I just like how the centri felt over the roots, not to found of the idea of the tires breaking loose trying to catch a light lol.
And to Marauderman, that beautiful piece of work is what stamped the idea in my head that you could have a pretty powerful car that can be daily driven. Love that car.
thanks for the weather and miles information, although ill only be driving 16 miles to work both ways.
Lol maybe I should switch the goals to an 11. Seems like that will keep it as a great daily driver.

I don't think the Centri are a lot better for daily driving. There reaches a point on a DD where you can't get traction on proper all weather street tires regardless of how the power is being produced.
With EAton you keep the stock fan shroud and that keeps coolant temps cool.
With A to A on a Centri your coolant temps can be high in certain conditions but your IATs are low since you have an endless supply of air.

Thank you, fuel system consist of custom sump factory fuel tank, -10 from tank to magafuel filter, magafuel filter to magafuel 750pump(4303), -10 from pump to second magafuel filter, -10 from second filter to Y(-10 to (2)-8, about 1.5ft of -8 to edelbrock fuel rail, 105lbs injectors, -8 from rails to magafuel fuel reg, -8 from fuel to fuel cooler, -8 from fuel cooler to tank. hope this helps.i also built a fuel cutoff so i can do filter cleaning/check. if needed i can add pic.
for my 10.91 pass the fuel system above was the same but the injectors. The 10.91pass was with 93octane, 60lbs injector, 15psi. The car is now running E85, 105lbs injector and 23psi.

...lets add 1500 lbs to the LS Mustang so its 4500 lbs ....now its going to run what 11 oh`s on pump gas with a hydrolic roller cam, factory crank, factory rods and untouched factory heads that flow 355 @650...Car ran 9.61@141 on motor with 4 mufflers ....Lets see a heavy Marauder do that with a cam and pump gas only on motor.....not going to happen...GM had a better idea by makeing the small blocks 427 cubic inches....

LS motors are hard to beat PERIOD!
To the OP. With the stock bottom end mid 11's are possible, you would need the right combo that's all.
A centrifugal setup would will not hurt power in high outside temp as much as the PD blower will.
(My experience).there are only a hand full of us who have or had cars that run 11's on stock bottom end no matter the weather conditions.
My previous car best time was 11.67@117mph on a mid 70* weather and would run 11.9 at 114-115mph on 90* weather.
The setup on the car consisted on vortech s-trim on 12psi 472rwhp-402rwtq, 3500 circle d stall, built tranny, 4.10s and all the supporting mods.
Now tens is a whole different animal, my current car mph like a mid 10 sec car but hasn't gone that fast due to traction. Hope this helped.

thanks for the info Landy. I plan on actually doing nothing wild with the stock bottom. I have a 98 teskid block sitting in the garage that I had plans on getting honed and bored .20 and stroking it to a 302ci.. That's when I would really start trying to aim for the times..
but with just buying a house making the built bottom end is going to have to wait so ill focus more on just collecting the rest of the Eaton parts.. Nothing wild for me over here..
quick question you stated some have been into the 11's with stock bottom how much Hp do you normally need to get in that range didn't think these stock bottoms could handle a lot of power? never mind this just reread it you answered this..
and you said your car's mph is like a 10 sec car is this just your race car or you do fair share of daily driving

My current car when it was together I drove it everywhere, I even drove it 7 hours to Atlanta and made 17 passes with it, trailered home on Sunday morning and went racing Sunday night.
With today's technology as long as you know what your doing and have the money to support it you can have an 8 sec daily if you really want.
