We would like get a head count to see who might be coming to The New Hampshire Meet this year. Our hotel will block a separate parking area for us based on the number of vehicles and we've been asked to give a rough count ASAP to reserve our Club Parking for the Custom and Classic Car Show at the Speedway. Hotel information
Our host hotel is The Hampton Inn in Concord/Bow, New Hampshire. We are booked as The Mercury Marauder Club. (group code MMC)

The Itinerary

August 16 (Thursday) Group dinner at Ella Coya.

August 17 (Friday) 9:30 am. Leave Concord for a scenic car cruise around Lake Winnipesaukee with stops at the Castle in the Clouds for lunch and a tour of the Mansion and Gardens.

Then traveling on to the Wright Military Museum in Wolfeboro to see their collection of military history. 4 pm. We will complete the loop around the lake and return to Concord in time for dinner

7:30 pm. Group dinner at The Red Blazer in Concord.

It's the main event! We will participate in the Classic and Custom Car Show at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway NASCAR track. This is the first year Marauders will be in a class of our own with trophies warded for first, second and third place!!!

Car Show Registration is $25.00 and includes admission for 2 adults for BOTH Saturday and Sunday.

To request a car show registration form:
1. Call the speedway at (603) 783-4744 or
2. Pm me or Mr. Man with a fax number or mailing address and we'll get a form out to you.

8:30 am Leave Concord for the drive to Loudon. Stop at the registration desk at the track to pick-up your official car show papers and goody bag. Proceed to our show parking on the grass in the Hospitality Area.


5:30 pm. After the car show we will take the cars out on the NASCAR Magic Mile Oval for paced laps!!


7 pm. Dinner together Saturday night at Makris Restaurant to celebrate and admire our trophies! :beer:


August 19 (Sunday) Breakfast at the hotel and goodbyes for those needing to head home. For those able to stay, we will return to the Speedway for Day 2 of the Car Show with peer judging for special awards. The Best of Show on Sunday will be invited to bring their vehicle back for the Sylvania 300 and be their guest in the suites for the race.

I've done the trip four times, twice in big TownCars, once in a 68 Cyclone GT, and once in my 2003 TBird, top down.

Fantastic journey.

The road is so narrow in spots that certain vehicles are not allowed. (I think big SUVs are not permitted.)

Yes, it is a fantastic experience.. Been up there only that once, in Eric's GMC pickup. Must have been amazing driving up in the convertible. Would like to make the trip again, maybe in the Marauder. (maybe with a bunch of Marauders.;))

The weekend is the same as Marcela's Bday so I'll need to see how I can make a value
proposition on a weekend away to a car show on her bday ;).

Already tried the "...but there's outlets near by" and got an eyebrow so I may
have some bait on the line :P.

Got my registration from last year in the mail and will hover on the thread
to keep the new hotel info in mind. I'll watch what my life is looking at with
regards to work and in a week or so I'll know if I can go for sure.

I will be calling the Vice President of Customer Relations at the NHMS tomorrow to update our club parking for the show. I am requesting that the Marauders be parked on the grass in the Hospitality Area where we've been before. It's close to the food vendors, the live band and the loo, plus the grass is nice to put up a tent and set out our chairs on.

So far it looks like 8 cars confirmed and another 10 that we hope will be coming! :banana: I'll tell Susan Colby what we need for now and adjust the number as needed. Just want to be sure we have all the space we need to showcase our cars. I don't think Loudon will know what hit them!:cool:

It's getting closer! Can't wait! But there's still plenty of time to get your plans made to come up to New Hampshire with the rest of us. The scenery is beautiful, and we'll make the most of that with a scenic car cruise around Lake Winnipesaukee stopping off at Castle In The Clouds for a tour and lunch and also in Wolfeboro to go through the Military Museum there. The NHMS in Loudon is a great facility, the car show is well done and professionally judged on Sat. with peer judging on Sunday. It's wide open for a Marauder or two to pick up some really nice trophies! (But don't worry, your car does not need to be a "show car" for you to enter and park with the club.) We have a record number of cars and people coming this year which is great! Still hoping all you "pending" ** cough cough Jonathan, Mark, Bob, Bill, Bill, John, Gordon, Chris, the Garys et all **can make it!:beer: Everyone is welcome!

5:30 pm. After the car show we will take the cars out on the NASCAR Magic Mile Oval for paced laps!!


7 pm. Dinner together Saturday night at Makris Restaurant to celebrate and admire our trophies! :beer:

Sorry guys, it's best to do Ella Coya Thursday with a smaller group. Remember that it is a small place with NO Parking for lot's of Marauder, plus it's a longer drive out there from Concord. We have a much larger group on Friday and the Red Blazer has us covered with seating and parking. The reservation is made. Trust me on this!;) Makris is Saturday.

(I was told we'll be on the oval this year.) The rule was "don't pass the pace car and don't pass each other." So if they haven't changed the rules...:cool: ;)

Arrive and check-in for those staying at The Hampton Inn

5 pm Meet and greet in lobby - BYOB

6 pm Leave Hotel for drive to Gilford

August 17 (Friday)

Breakfast at the Hotel

9 am Meet at the cars in hotel parking lot for drivers meeting.

9:15 am. Leave Concord for a scenic car cruise around Lake Winnipesaukee.

11 am Arrive at the Castle in the Clouds for lunch* and a tour of the Mansion and Gardens.

*You may choose from 2 options for lunch: There is a cafe with patio serving a full lunch menu or a snack bar with hot dogs, snacks and ice cream.

4 pm. We will complete the loop around the lake and return to Concord.

5 pm Arrive back at hotel. Relax in lobby / freshen up for dinner

7 pm Meet in lobby and depart for dinner.

It's the main event! We will participate in the Classic and Custom Car Show at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway NASCAR track. This is the first year Marauders will be in a class of our own with trophies awarded for first, second and third place!!!

Car Show Registration is $25.00 and includes admission for 2 adults for BOTH Saturday and Sunday.

8:15 am Meet at the cars in Hotel Parking lot for drivers meeting.

8:30 am Leave Concord for the drive to Loudon. Stop at the registration desk at the track to pick-up your official car show papers and goody bag or register if needed. Proceed to our show parking on the grass in the Hospitality Area.

5:30 pm. After the car show we will take the cars out on the NASCAR Magic Mile Oval for paced laps!!

7 pm. Dinner together Saturday night at Makris Restaurant to celebrate and admire our trophies! :beer:

August 19 (Sunday) Breakfast at the hotel and goodbyes for those needing to head home.

8:30 am Depart from the hotel for Day 2 of the Car Show with peer judging for special awards. The Best of Show on Sunday will be invited to bring their vehicle back for the Sylvania 300 and be their guest in the suites for the race.

5:30 pm Wave a fond farewell and head home.....until next year!

Almost go time! Eric and I took the dogs out to Doggie Camp in PA yesterday afternoon. (house is a little too quiet now :) but the cat is happy!) Folding chairs and car cleaning supplies are stowed in the trunk. Checked our radios and set to channel 5. Packed extra AAA batteries. Camera/ battery charger and small field glasses ready to go. Got a bottle of Merlot, opener, cap, cocktail napkins and 4 wine glasses. Got out our Marauder Tee shirts and caps. Now to do a little more laundry, a little more packing and a lot of baking today!
We'll be heading out tomorrow morning (Wed), after rush hour, for New Hampshire. Woo-hoo! See a bunch of you for dinner Thursday night and the rest of you on Friday, Sat. & Sun. :beer:

Yes you can, Matt!! But you will need to register for the car show at the office. It's good for 2 days (Sat. & Sun. for 2 adults). You
are welcome to go out on the track with us (about 5:30 pm) and even join us for dinner, both you and your dad. I'll pm you my cell so just call me if you are coming and we'll be sure to have a spot for you. We should be at the track before 9 am. Sat. morning. Really hope you and dad come out to join us!

Hi from beautiful New Hampshire!! Got here yesterday afternoon after a really nice trip up. The sun is out this morning and we just had a great breakfast here at our host hotel, The Hampton Inn in Concord/Bow. Ken the Manager is cordoning off our parking area and can't do enough to make us welcome! We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the rest of our crowd. 6 cars arriving today and 2 more tomorrow! Everyone else is coming for the car show Sat. Eric and I are heading out soon to check the car cruise route and will be back to the hotel by 4 at the latest. We'll hang in the lobby area to greet everyone who arrives, have a glass of wine, a couple cookies and then off to dinner to kick off the weekend! Can't wait to see everybody! Safe travels All!

By the way, there was a horrific crash off 93 near exit 2 we came upon on the way home, fire and ambulance there, one car through the guardrail and on its roof some 300 feet later, not good at all. As we passed there was a black Marauder that looked like they just stopped, weren't in the crash I don't think, if one of our guys, let me know you are alright and not involved.

That was me pulled over, I was about 50 feet behind the crash and saw the whole thing in front of me, State Police asked me to stick around to give a statement. No I was not involved in the crash.

We just rolled in our driveway...lots of traffic!! Did have one bright spot on the drive home when we spotted a black Marauder in CT, just ahead of us. We caught him and it turned out to be Odinson and his family also returning home from a weekend away. Always great to see a fellow mm.net member and friend out on the road! Car looked great, Matt!

Eric and I just want to say WOW! We had so much fun at our third Annual NH Meet! We loved seeing all our good friends and we met so many really great people and put faces to names. We felt we already knew them from interacting here on mm.net....and they were all amazing! I am heading to bed and will post our final attendance list, give a full account of the events and post up our pics tomorrow. Just want each and every one of you who came out to participate in this years events to know how much we enjoyed your company!! And thanks to our strong numbers at the car show, you made our goal of having our own Marauder Class a reality! Fabulous Class 29!! :bows:

This meet reinforced my belief that Marauder lovers are exceptional not only in their taste in cars but in being exceptional human beings who stick together, know how to have all kinds of fun and if trouble befalls one, there is strong support from the group and hands on help from very capable individual members. My apologies to all for falling asleep Saturday night. That's what I get for sitting down in my room after we arrived from Makris (had the awesome Seafood Chowdah and Blackened Swordfish!) and, I missed many of you Sunday morning!

Paula and I had a WONDERFUL time, it was so nice to have had the opportunity to establish new friendships and renew old ones. Thank you Paula and Eric for organizing a most enjoyable and memorable New Hampshire meet! Thank you Mary for the MM.net contribution! Great folks, great food, great time, looking forward to next year!

Good thing you guys are alright, did he get cut off, it looked real bad like someone was thrown from the car too.


Only one person in the car, he got out all by himself, he was just going too fast for the situation. Driving in the left breakdown lane, caught a tire in the gravel and lost control, clipped another car on his way to rolling over. Terrifying scene, especially for my 12 year old daughter.

Fire/rescue took the dude to the hospital. No one else injured.

Other than that it was a perfect day, thank you all who put all the work into gathering everyone on such a beautiful day!

Very scary stuff for sure, we didn't go over 65 the rest of the way home, I really thought that looked like a fatal, makes you realize how anything can happen on the road, your fault or not.
