A/C PRO Questions?
I just bought a bottle of A/C Pro. As soon as I attach the quick connect to the low side port, the pressure gauge reads in the red. I did some research of why it might read in the red… probable cause for being in the red.
1. A/C not on.
2. System refrigerant level might be so low that compressor cannot cycle on.
Solution!
1. Add a can of A/c Pro refrigerant.
2. If the problem persists, seek professional service.
My compressor was not cycling at all, so I continued to add the refrigerant. A couple of minutes later the needle still reads in the red, compressor still not cycling, and the bottle of refrigerant still feels full- as if it cannot pump anymore refrigerant into my system because there is already too much???. I don’t know if it’s reading in the red because I have too much or added to much refrigerant? My A/C blows but is not cold at all. I do not want to continue to add more refrigerant fearing that I’ve already added too much? Should I continue?

I would say "No" Dave...... I am not an expert, so I will let others go into the details, but it might be something different than the lack of refrigerant that is effecting your A/C. Someone will chime in soon I am sure:o.

A/C is NOT a do it yourself item! If you are not trained/schooled & certified absolutely do NOT F*** with it! Beyond the damage & expense you will cause, you can severely injure yourself up to & including permently blinding yourself. These stupid parts outlets that sell the ***** should be shut down - they are only interested in selling the stuff fully knowing you will NOT be able to actually use it correctly with end result a repair!
If a/c inop & you think it is related to freon charge, take in to reputable shop to fix the leak (yes, a/c is closed system so if it is low there is a leak & per fereral law must be repaired before recharging).
Good luck! :D

This! The auto parts stores technically aren't even supposed to be able to sell refrigerant!
Im an HVAC service tech and we always say that there is nothing better than a maintenance guy who thinks he knows HVAC. He creates more work for us LOL but also more headaches!

This is technically up to the state. I have no problem with parts stores selling cans of freon but recently they have started selling these quick fix cans with hoses and guages attached to them and marketing them as being as easy as adding fix-a-flat to a tire. This is completely irresponsible and immoral and I will testify at the court case for the person injured by them!!!!:mad2::mad2:
