Airbag!! Help

Would you guys happen to know if i can replace this part the wire came out and the lil medal clip broke off now my airbag light is on and i need my inspection done. Might be able to solder it. Probably need to buy the airbag assembly.

yea we were gonna try that this weekend, they dont sell just that whole harness huh cause that might deploy the airbag huh?

I have had an airbag light on my truck for 2 inspections now.....they didnt mention it and I passed both times

I thought you could buy individual metal clips from the dealer. It may take a sharp parts guy to find the part number, but almost all of the wire clips and plastic connectors are available as replacement parts. I have bought several different ones. Dealers have to fix this stuff all the time. If the metal end inside the air bag is damaged then, yes, you need an airbag.

Maybe someone on here dismatling a MM can ciut one off and sell it to you..

Thanks yea hopefully they have to do more researching on it.. Or like you said maybe someone has one.

I have had an airbag light on my truck for 2 inspections now.....they didnt mention it and I passed both times

a big +1 on this. My 05 silverado has had the giant reading of "SERVICE AIR BAG" on since I have had it (broken plug under passenger seat) and not a mention of that during inspections.

Depends on the state...in MA, you can have the ABS light on and they won't care, but will fail you if the airbag light is on.

IOW, the part that might prevent an accident is ignored, while the part that will only deploy AFTER you've already had the accident will fail you. Typical MA bureaucratic stupidity.

NY allows the ABS and the airbag light to be on and still pass, a CEL and its automatic failure.
