my car air compressor i think is dead and my rear end is sagging really bad
you hear the air suspension compressor under the hood under my k&n CAI, it will come on and make the noise for 1 second and then turn rightback off and 5 seconds later will come on again for a second then back off
repeats repeats repeat and the rear end dosent raise up at all :mad2:
it will make the nosie spot then hear a little noie liek leaks back out then starts n stops n start n stop wel you get the point
so my guess is the air suspension compressor is shot, what do you guys think....
also does any1 have a spare susension compressor thats in workin conditon please or can some1 point me in the direction for one, new or used bec my MM is my DD.
i so mad its one thing after another but can never give up on my MM i love this car and just want to put a new compressor in and hope if works back like noirmal again
please please some1 help with some addvice and point me in the right directiuon with a part number and or some1/somewhere i can find a new or used one please :)

Arnott Industries and Suncore both sell air suspension parts for Ford, Mercury, Lincoln..They also have ebay stores which often save a few more dollars. I know the Marauder uses the HPP/Limo airbags, but I am not sure if the compressors are different between, Crown vic, Marquis, Marauder, Limo. I'm sure someone else with more info will respond, but this gives you a place to go look at for starters.

If its coming and on and shutting back off it's sounding more like the level sensor which is located on the watts link above the rear. It can be adjusted and sends the signal to turn the compressor on when the rear is low and when to turn it off when it's level.

yes its coming on and off but then after its doin so i hear a sound like ther air is letting back out i hera a weirdddd noise like a beeeeeeepppppppppppppppppppp and as that noise was doing so my rear end was just droppingg till dropped all the wayyy

so please mor info on what you are talking aboit pleae sir

Do a search for "ride height sensor". It's attached to a bracket on the driver's side of the real axle. They get bound up and cause the linkage to pop off. New ones are readily available at tascaparts.com and are not expensive.

The noise you are hearing may be air escaping from a blown airbag. You will have to get underneath to check and be certain. Since you are getting air back there to inflate the bag in the first place makes me think even more that the compressor is fine and a level sensor is the issue along with a blown airbag. Have any work done that required the car put on a lift or the rear of the car to be jacked up? Maybe someone forgot to turn the air suspension off and caused some damage.

Try to avoid driving any if possible until you get it fixed, without the bags fully inflated it will put a lot of stress on the shocks since the air bags are like a spring for our car.

I literally am having the same exact issue. I cant decide whether to invest in fixing the air suspension or just converting to springs? any thoughts???

Loosen the nut
Adjust the sensor up or down
Tighten nut
It's very easy to do.

so there is two of these sensors right and located at rear of car one of each side
any1 have a part number i already ordered the compressor and mine has been getting really loud recently so i think it was goin up anyways

Only one sensor.

The 03+ ride height sensor is physically different from the one in the pictures. It mounts to the floor pan and has a small clip-on linkage that connects to the bracket on the Watts link. The adjustment procedure is the same.

so im going to replace the level sensor and the compressor and if that dosent fix it i guess its the air bags, but im goin to pray its not
i checked all the fuses and relays and there all fine so i hope these two things fix my problem and make it better than ever

I am sorting out an air suspension problem right now, to me it sounds like u have a leak in ur system, probobly one of the air bags. To check for a leak u can disconnect ur air compressor and manually fill the suspension, there is a thread on this site with detailed instructions on how to do it, my car dropped and first i checked the fuses and they were good so i manually filled the suspension with the thread on here, air has held for two weeks now so i have no leaks, i than checked the ride height sensor and it was cooked so i replaced that. Now with no leaks and a new ride height sensor my air compressor will not kick on so i believe my air compressor is cooked. Bought a new one from suncore industries and it just arrived yesterday. Gonna install it this wknd and hopefully this will b the end of my suspension woes. Judge by ur info and my recent experience it seems like u have an air leak. I hope this info was helpful and u can get urs fixed without spending too much money!

only thing is i dont have an air compressor to see if the bags fill up so idk what to do i already ordered a new compresor gonna start with that
i was messing with my audio system and i wasent even doing nothing out of the orderinary at all and the rear5 bags i felt them just droppppp and i was like wtf happen

fuses check
compressor ordered
gonna order the air ride sensor now
try to find osme1 with a sir compressor to see if i have a leak in the bags i HOPE THIS IS NOT THE PROBLEM bec there 100 a bag so 200 for two new bags already spend 180 on new arrnold compressor and gonna see how much the air ride sensor is now

Try and find someone with an air compressor asap!!! I would hold off on the ride height sensor and see if it possible to return the air compressor u ordered. Ur air compressor turns on so i highly doubt that is ur problem. If u can get the car somewhere and try and manually fill it u will know right away if u have a leak and u can get that fixed. If u have no leaks than i would replace ur ride height sensor and leave ur air compressor for last since it is turning on and trying to inflate ur suspension. Since ur suspension just sudenly dropped it seems like something let go and released all the air in ur system. If ur ride height sensor failed u shouldnt have a sudden drop. With no leaks the suspension will hold the air even with a dead sensor or with the air suspension turned off. If u cant get to an air compressor right away u can turn off ur air suspension with the switch in the trunk and than jack up the rear of the car, put it on stands and inspect the air bags for damage. If it is the air bags and u dont want to deal with air suspension anymore u can buy a coil spring conversion kit from suncore or arnott and take out the air bags. Might be a good option if ur gonna have to replace one or both of the air bags anyway. Its only a couple hundred bucks for the coil spring kit. and best of luck!

If ur ride height sensor failed u shouldnt have a sudden drop. Yes, it can. When the sensor failed in Phoebe, it froze up and caused the linkage to pop off when driven over a bump. Since the sensor was still electrically functional, when Bunny exited the car the system vented but never got the signal to stop venting at the correct height, so the car dropped all the way down.

compressor should be here in couple days if that dont work then going to the air ride height sensor

i just thought of an idea ima try home deopt and see if i can rent one and return it do i need any certain nosstle to fill it with i have no clue
if so i would perform from the from on the car right where the compressor is juts unhook the one line and put the air thru the line and raue the car up and hit the swithc when up and just hope it dosent leak
n if it old for a day or two without dropping then no leaks a compessor or rid ehright snesor

Sorry my mistake, i assumed that since my sensor died and i manually pumped up the suspension and turned:beer: it off that the sensor wouldnt release all the air. Thx for the correction, not trying to mislead anyone.

Just follow step by step from the thread by Blk Mamba. It worked great for me (cheers Blk Mamba!). Make sure u hear the solenoid click before u start to fill with air so u dont damage anything!!

115.00? guess I sold the extra I had pretty cheap like always. Iam just happy I get cost on my Ford parts. You know anyone with a acct that can get it at a disc? Also Id bet it's the same as a GM sensor, take a trip to salvage yard might save ya 65.00-70.00.

i manually pumped up the suspension and turned it off that the sensor wouldnt release all the air. If the system is turned off, then it won't pump up or vent, but if it was active at the time of failure, then it can. Some people have even reported the system jacking all the way up...it depends on the failure mode.

i tryd to manualy pump up the suspension by havin the swithc on and turn key over and take the long hose out of the compressor that leads all the way back to rear of can n take my air pcmpressor and try to pump up and it did nothing at alll

I believe you remove the nuts from under the tray the compressor sits in.
Before you start something, step back and take a look at what you are doing.
